Round One Goes to Stokes

Jamin Stokes raised to 80,000 from the button, and Leo Wolpert made the call. The flop came down {Q-Spades} {Q-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds}. Both players checked.

Fourth street came the {9-Hearts}. Wolpert checked, and Stokes fired out 100,000, which was called.

The river was the {4-Spades}. Stokes again checked, then called another 220,000 chips. He tabled {10-Spades} {10-Hearts} and watched Wolpert muck his hand. With these two players now all alone on the sprawling felt, the first sizable confrontation has gone to Stokes. He's also taken a slight lead with that pot as the two continue to pass it back and forth.

Stokes - 2,024,000
Wolpert - 1,816,000
