Senovio Ramirez III - 9th Place

Freddy Deeb Eliminated 8th ($27,029)

Just one hand after Senovio Ramirez busted, Freddy Deeb made his exit from the tournament.

According to Tournament Director Robert Beck, Freddy pushed all in preflop and got called by Thang Luu. When the hand played out, Luu showed two pair of 3s and 4s, which were enough to beat Deeb's pocket aces.

Deeb earned $27,029.

Price Best Luu On River

Thang Luu raised preflop and Robert Price called from the big blind. The flop came down {Q-Hearts} {4-Spades} {3-Spades} and Price checked. Luu fired and Price called.

The turn was the {9-Diamonds} and Luu bet after Price checked. Price then called.

The river was the {K-Hearts} and Price led out. Luu made the call.

Price showed {K-Clubs} {7-Diamonds} {5-Clubs} {4-Diamonds} for two pair on the river and Luu looked disgusted while mucking his hand.

Reslock Mucks to Luu

Ming "Joy" Reslock raised and Thang Luu called from the big blind. The {Q-Spades} {9-Clubs} {7-Hearts} flop induced a check from Luu. Reslock fired and Luu called.

The turn brought the {4-Spades} and the same action occurred, check, bet, call.

The river was the {3-Spades} and Luu fired first this time. Reslock tanked for a few minutes and then mucked her hand, giving the defending champion the pot.

Cards Back in the Air

The remaining six players have returned from dinner break and the cards are back in the air.

Just a reminder once again that Thang Luu is STILL in the field. Two years ago, he placed second in the event behind Frankie O'Dell and last year, Luu took down the title. If he wins this one, the WSOP might have to think about renaming this event the Thang Luu Classic.

Pascal Leyo Comes Back Strong

Pascal Leyo got all his chips in the middle against Ming Reslock on the first hand back from the break.

Reslock had a pair of aces and a nut flush draw while Leyo had a straight draw and a pair of sevens. He asked for a seven or a nine on the river, and got what he wanted when a seven hit the board.

He's now sitting on about 140,000 chips.
