Atchison Takes Early One

Ken Lennaard opened to 65,000 from the hi-jack, and with the action on Pat Atchison in the big blind, he bumped it a further 150,000.

Lennaard made the call and when the flop of {10-Spades}{2-Clubs}{4-Hearts} fell, Atchison fired out 350,000 to prompt a fold from Lennaard.

As Atchison raked in the pot to send him to over two million he flashed the {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} to receive a tap of the table from Lennaard.

Route 55 For Atchison

Great start for Atchison

Almira Skripchenko opened from middle position to 65,000 and Pat Atchison made the call next to act.

The flop of {6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{5-Spades} was met with an 80,000-chip bet from Skripchenko with Atchison making the call.

When the turn fell the {4-Clubs}, both players checked to see the {2-Hearts} peel on the river. Skripchenko checked to Atchison who splashed the pot with a bet of 125,000. Skripchenko mulled over it for a little before making the call.

Atchison tabled his {5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} for a full house and Skripchenko open-mucked her {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}. Atchison climbed to 2,350,000 as Skripchenko slipped to 945,000 in chips.

Plens Crippled

Anthony Roux opened to 60,000 from the hi-jack before Joe Morneau bumped it to 150,000 from the cutoff.

Jonathan Plens made the call from the button and once Roux passed, the flop of {J-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{6-Spades} fell to bring a check from Morneau.

Plens sat in there deliberating before cutting out a bet of 250,000, which Morneau called.

The turn landed the {4-Clubs} and Morneau again checked to Plens, who followed suit by pushing all in. Morneau insta-called and the cards were tabled.

Plens: {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}
Morneau: {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}

With Morneau at risk, he would have to evade the two remaining aces in the deck. The river peeled the repeating {J-Hearts}, Morneau doubled through to 1,850,000 as Plens was left crippled with 205,000.
