Chu'd Up

Hansu Chu check-raised on the turn of a {7-Hearts} {9-Clubs} {J-Diamonds} {K-Hearts} board and bettor Alex Keating called the raise. Chu moved all in for his last 5,000 on the {5-Hearts} river, but unfortunately for him, Keating was holding two hearts for the flush. Chu mucked and exited in 39th place.

That Cospolich Hellmuth

Brian Cospolich raised from UTG and was three-bet by Phil Hellmuth from MP. The call was made so the two went to a {7-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs} flop. The rest of Cospolich's chips went in with {5-Clubs} {5-Spades} and Hellmuth was priced in with {A-Clubs} {K-Clubs}.

The turn came {6-Diamonds} and river {6-Spades} to double Cospolich up to 23,000. Hellmuth still on six figures with 101,000.

Naalden Hits the Marc

Naalden - prickly fellow
Naalden - prickly fellow
Jared O'Dell raised under the gun and another gentleman called behind; Marc Naalden reraised in the cutoff and both players called.

The {J-Spades} {4-Clubs} {2-Diamonds} flop checked around to Naalden who bet, and both players called. The {2-Clubs} turn checked to Naalden as well and he bet again; this time O'Dell was the only caller.

The river came the {J-Clubs} and O'Dell check-called another bet from Naalden. Naalden flipped over {A-Clubs} {5-Clubs} for the ace-high flush and O'Dell mucked.

The Needle King's up to 135,000.

Crippled Then Busted

The damage for Alex Kravchenko was done by a Mr. Matt Lichtie. We didn't get to see what the Russian had but he certainly couldn't beat his opponent's {7-Hearts} {8-Hearts} on a {7-Spades} {K-Clubs} {6-Hearts} {8-Spades} {8-Clubs} board.

Sent in to finish him off was Mike Thorpe. It all went in preflop with Kravchenko's {A-Clubs} {10-Diamonds} unable to catch up with Thorpe's {A-Hearts} {J-Hearts} on a {8-Hearts} {2-Spades} {A-Spades} {6-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds} board.

Hien Today, Gone Tomorrow

Marc Naalden raised in the cutoff and both blinds called, Hien Tran in the small blind short, to see a {2-Hearts} {J-Spades} {2-Clubs}. A brief raising war saw Tran all in, the big blind ducking out of the way, and Naalden calling. On their backs.

Tran: {4-Spades} {4-Diamonds}
Naalden: {J-Diamonds} {9-Hearts}

Turn: {3-Clubs}
River: {6-Diamonds}

Thus Tran is busto, while Naalden appears to be our new chip leader on 211,000.

Tripled to a Shortie

A player in the cut off raised before Daniel Negreanu moved all in for 7,500. The BB called as did the initial raiser. There was no action to create a side pot so we were left with a {4-Spades} {8-Spades} {10-Spades} {2-Diamonds} {4-Hearts} board and one main pot that all went to Negreanu with {A-Spades} {8-Diamonds}. He is still in need of help on 24,000.
