Ms. Nancy Blaustein was not looking in good shape way back on the bubble -- she had 2,000 chips left and it was her big blind. Yikes.
But wait! She was suddenly moved to a different table and got four free hands, lucky lady. She made the money, and not only that, she's clawed her way up to 65,000.
Marc Naalden dropped a few chips somewhere along the line but was back up to 210,000 after his turned out nice on the board to crack his opponent's pocket jacks.
And if that weren't enough, a couple hands later he smacked the river again, this time ending Matt Dames' tournament life.
Board:
Naalden:
Dames: flashed the before departing.
Naalden is now even more chipped up than he was before.
Andreas Martens is out in 30th place in fairly ugly circumstances.
He raised under the gun and called a late position reraise to see an flop. He checked, Mr. Late Position bet, Martens raised, Mr. Late Position reraised, and Martens called all in for his very last 3,000.
Martens: for two pair
Mr. Late Position: for a pair of aces
Turn: (look away now if you're of a nervous disposition)
The flop was out and read and Rep Porter checked from the BB as did Phil Hellmuth from the cut off. The turn saw Porter check-call a bet as he did on the river. Porter tabled that was good for the pot as Hellmuth mucked.
"I'm going to catch you" needled Porter at Hellmuth "You play too many pots".
Alex Keating raised from the cutoff and Erik Haakenson on the button reraised. Over to Mike Thorpe in the big blind who called, and back to Keating who called too.
Flop:
It checked around to Haakenson who bet -- but Thorpe raised, and then Keating reraised. Haakenson got out of the way (incidentally leaving himself rather short) and Thorpe called.
Turn:
Thorpe check-called a bet from Keating.
River:
Once more, Thorpe check-called.
Keating turned over for a full house to put him up to 190,000; Thorpe mucked and is down to 45,000.
