Mind the Action!

Matt Matros benefitted from an opponent's lack of presence at the table. A player in early position limped into the pot for 100 before the hijack player raised to 250. Matros called that raise from the button; the early-position player called as well.

The flop came down {3-Spades} {10-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds}. The preflop aggressor made a continuation bet of 400 after the early-position player checked. Matros then asked the preflop aggressor to move his hand so that Matros could eyeball his stack.

"Oh," replied that player. "I didn't even know you were in the hand."

Armed with that information, Matros quietly put up a raise to 1,300. That raise won Matros the pot and boosted his count to 11,000.
