Negreanu Hits a Six to Survive

'Bout time I hit a card!
'Bout time I hit a card!
Daniel Negreanu (X)(X) {2-?} {7-?} {A-?} {5-?} (X)
Hanno Offen (X)(X) {4-?} {6-?} {7-?} {6-?} (X)
Jeff Lisandro (X)(X){6-?} {5-?} {4-?} {5-?} (X)

Daniel Negreanu was all in on fifth street for his remaining 6,000 in a three-way pot with Hanno Offen and Jeff Lisandro, who continued betting on the side. Lisandro led out on sixth street and Offen called, but Offen folded to Lisandro's seventh street bet.

Lisandro turned over {2-?} {3-?} {9-?} for a 6-5-4-3-2 low. Negreanu turned over {7-?} {3-?} and with all the fours in the deck already out, Negreanu needed, as Norman Chad might say, "a six and a six only" to survive.

Negreanu peeled up his down card revealing... a six! With three sixes already dead, it was a one outer for Negreanu, making him a 6-5-3-2-A low to earn him the 20,000 pot.

Daniel Negreanu Eliminated

Daniel Negreanu's stack succumbed to David Chiu, when he bricked out and made a Q-9 low to Chiu's 8-7 low.

Though he'll miss out on some POY points in this event, he still has two to play today-- the $10,000 Pot-Limit Hold'em and the $2,500 Omaha 8 or Better.

Arrivederci, Dario

Ville Wahlbeck (X)(X){5-?} {Q-?} {5-?}
Rich Morrella (X)(X){2-?} {4-?} {Q-?} {K-?} (X)
Dan Makowsky (X)(X) {6-?} {A-?} {9-?} {8-?} (X)

Dario Minieri completed on third street, Ville Wahlbeck raised, Rich Morrella and Dan Makowsky called, Minieri moved all in for an additional 3,600 and all three players called. Wahlbeck, Morrella, and Makowsky continued betting on the side.

Morrella led out on fourth street and and both Makowsky and Walhbeck called. Makowsky took the lead on fifth and bet, Wahlbeck folded and Morrella called. Makowsky bet again on sixth and Morrella called. Both players checked the river.

Makowsky had the best hand with a 9-8-6-2-A low. Morrella mucked, and Minieri showed J-9-7-6-3 before heading to the rail.

After the hand, Makowsky was up to 36,000.
