This Is No Keiner Place for a Nice Man Like You

A curious hand, where Sirous Jamshidi, Scott Bohlman and Michael Keiner all checked an {8-Diamonds} {8-Spades} {4-Clubs} flop, and then both Bohlman and Keiner called a bet from Jamshidi on the {6-Hearts} turn.

Come the {6-Diamonds} river it was Bohlman's turn to bet; both players called, and Jamshidi took the high with a straight, Bohlman tabled the nut low, and Keiner seems to have just got caught in the middle of it all -- he mucked.

Bohlman: {A-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds} {5-Clubs} {8-Clubs}
Jamshidi: {5-Diamonds} {5-Hearts} {7-Hearts} {J-Diamonds}

Pat Poels Busts in 9th Place ($23,541)

Pat Poels - 9th Place
Pat Poels - 9th Place
Pat Poels raised, and called a reraise from Scott Bohlman in the big blind.

Bohlman bet out on the {7-Clubs} {8-Hearts} {8-Spades} flop and Poels called, and when Bohlman bet out again on the {9-Spades} turn, Poels raised all in. They turned their cards over.

Bohlman: {A-Spades} {A-Diamonds} {7-Spades} {4-Hearts}
Poels: {A-Clubs} {A-Hearts} {J-Diamonds} {J-Spades}

River: a fateful gives-Bohlman-a-flush {5-Spades}

When they counted down the stacks, it was discovered that Poels covered Bohlman by, er, 1,000. Yes, that's a chip, and of course he still had his chair.

He managed to get his stack back up to the heady heights of around 4,000, but a couple hands later and he met his inevitable demise. We're down to eight.

Things Turn Fabulous for Fabio

Josh Schlein raised under the gun and Fabio Coppola called him from the small blind; both then proceeded to check the {9-Spades} {9-Hearts} {K-Hearts} flop.

Coppola bet out on the {10-Spades} turn and again on the {2-Clubs} river and both times Schlein called -- but mucked when Coppola turned over {A-Hearts} {Q-Clubs} {J-Clubs} {6-Clubs} for a straight. Disappointingly no histrionics from the excitable Italian this time round -- it seems he only sings when he's losing.

John Monnette Eliminated in 10th Place ($17,007)

He's in the payout
He's in the payout
John Monnette raised under the gun and it folded right around to Michael Keiner on the button, who reraised. Monnette called all in, failed to outdraw Keiner's aces, and busted out in 10th.

Monnette: {5-Spades} {6-Hearts} {7-Hearts} {9-Spades}
Keiner: {A-Hearts} {A-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} {8-Spades}

Board: {7-Spades} {2-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} {2-Hearts}

A gentlemanly handshake between the two players, and Monnette is bust while Keiner's up to 390,000

Coppola Cops a Bad Beat... Or Two

Sirous Jamshidi check-called Fabio Coppola's bets all the way down the {10-Hearts} {7-Hearts} {A-Diamonds} {3-Spades} {4-Hearts} board, only to find that his {A-Spades} {2-Clubs} {J-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs} was absolutely no good by that point against Jamshidi's {8-Spades} {6-Spades} {5-Clubs} {3-Clubs}.

Coppola exploded. "Oh my god, what did you call with on the flop? How did he call that flop? Jesus..."

Said Scott Bohlman: "You need to start a blog immediately."

The next hand, Coppola managed to flop two sets holding {A-?} {A-?} {8-?} {8-?} on an {A-?} {8-?} {5-?} flop -- and still managed to lose out to Josh Schlein who scooped at the end of the hand. More shouting from the emotional Italian, and he violently swept his former chips towards Schlein and turned for a bit of sympathy to his buddy Cristiano Blanco at the rail.

Not Quite in Poels Position

Pat Poels got in his last from the small blind and Sirous Jamsidi, who seems to have raised under the gun, called.

Poels: {A-Clubs} {K-Clubs} {J-Hearts} {2-Spades}
Jamshidi: {A-Hearts} {3-Diamonds} {5-Hearts} {10-Clubs}

Board: {9-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} {3-Spades} {Q-Hearts} {4-Diamonds}

Thus Poels doubles to 110,000, while Jamshidi is down to 188,000.

Ray of Sunshine for Derek

Five players limped and checked their way to a {4-Diamonds} {5-Spades} {2-Hearts} flop and it checked to Josh Schlein in position who bet. Two players got out of the way, but Derek Raymond raised; Fabio Coppola called, as did Schlein.

Three-handed to the {J-Hearts} turn and Raymond bet out; Coppola called and Schlein gave it up.

Heads up at the {9-Hearts} river and they both checked it -- and Raymond scooped the pot with {A-Clubs} {3-Diamonds} {3-Clubs} {4-Clubs} for a wheel, while Coppola just mucked.
