Gilbert Catches His Ace

An Tran was threatening to run away with the chip lead. After Mike Caro open-raised to 20,000 and Benjamin Gilbert reraised to 57,000, Tran (the chip leader) moved all in from the small blind. That was enough to fold Caro. Gilbert required time for more thought.

After about a minute and thirty seconds, Gilbert called all in for 158,000 total. Tran showed {K-Clubs} {k-Spades} against Gilbert's {A-Clubs} {Q-Spades}, but an ace flopped {A-Spades} {7-Diamonds} {6-Clubs} to give Gilbert a lead he never relinquished.

The double-up pushed Gilbert to about 350,000 in chips and dropped Tran back to 450,000.
