Malott Wins a Monster

Action folded to Kenny Malott on the button who open shoved for 206,000. Kenny Nguyen went into the tank before finally making the call.

Action then moved to Steven Rubinfeld in the big blind, who also thought long and hard about his hand before open folding pocket queens.

Malott: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}
Nguyen: {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}

The flop of {A-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{J-Hearts} hit both players, but the {J-Diamonds} on the turn left Malott drawing to an ace or jack. A meaningless {8-Spades} hit the river, and Nguyen was down to just 4,000 while Malott increased his stack to nearly 430,000.

Burks Busts

Gary Burks pushed his last 55,000 in before the flop and went heads up with Tony Veckey.

Burks: {K-Spades}{J-Hearts}
Veckey: {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}

The flop of {K-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} was good for Burks, and the {J-Spades} on the turn was better. The {10-Hearts} on the river was a killer though, making Broadway for Veckey.

Mike Sica Goes Bust

Mike Ratcliff told us about how he busted Mike Sica.

Ratcliff said he made a standard preflop raise and got two callers. He then bet out on a flop of 3-2-7 with two hearts on the board. Sica raised all in, and Ratcliff called.

Sica turned over the {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts} for a flush draw while Ratcliff held pocket threes for a set. When the board bricked out, Sica went to the rail.

Brown Busto

Daniel Brown moved his last 55,000 into the middle and was called by Paulo Nunes.

Brown: {J-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}
Nunes: {3-Diamonds}{3-Spades}

Brown took the lead on the flop when it fell {4-Clubs}{J-Spades}{10-Diamonds}, and when the {J-Diamonds} landed on the turn, Brown's shot at doubling up looked likely.

However, when the river peeled the {3-Clubs} Brown was sent packing thanks to Nunes' rivered full house.

Hayes Rivers Double

With some heavy action preflop, Eric Hayes pushed his remaining 185,000 into the middle on a board of {8-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}.

Henry Merchan made the call tabling his {K-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and was well ahead of Hayes' {A-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}.

The turn landed the {3-Clubs} to give Merchan a flush draw too, but when the river fell the {2-Diamonds} Hayes doubled to over 550,000 as Merchan slipped to 100,000 in chips.

It's a Gray Day

Craig Gray raised to 25,000 from the button and the player in the big blind called. The flop came down {5-Clubs} {5-Spades} {4-Hearts} and the big blind checked. Gray moved all in for 102,000 and his opponent called.

Gray held {J-Clubs} {10-Spades} and his opponent held {8-Hearts} {8-Clubs}. The turn and river bricked out as far as Gray was concerned, with the {K-Diamonds} first followed by the {Q-Spades}, and he was eliminated from the tournament.

Kerstetter Eliminated

Sergey Konkin keeps knocking them out. This time, he called Jamie Kerstetter's preflop shove and let the board run.

Kerstetter: {A-Hearts}{7-Hearts}
Konkin: {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}

Board: {6-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}

Konkin now has 775,000.

You Like My Chow-der?

Wayne Chow moved all in for 179,000 before another player reraised all in for 320,000. Everyone else folded and Chow revealed {A-Diamonds} {Q-Spades}. His opponent held {A-Hearts} {K-Spades}.

The flop came down {Q-Hearts} {8-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} and put Chow in the lead. The turn was the {10-Spades} and then the river was the {Q-Clubs}, tripping up Chow and doubling him up.
