Less Chips for Morrow

Action was folded around to the blinds, and Joseph Morrow was first to act. Before he could raise, big blind Abe Mosseri piped up, "This is an un-stealable blind!" It was no matter to Morrow who raised anyway. Mosseri called and drew one while Morrow pulled two. He checked, Mosseri bet, and Morrow called.

Each player drew one card, and Morrow check-called another bet. On the last draw, Mosseri stood pat while Morrow drew one more. Abe turned over his 9-8-5-3-2, and Morrow slid his cards into the muck.

Morrow - 77,000
Mosseri - 240,000

Negreanu Eliminated

Daniel Negreanu was all in against Abe Mosseri and Dan Quach by the first draw.

Mosseri drew two while Quach and Negreanu drew one, Quach bet and Mosseri called with Negreanu calling all in.

On the second draw Mosseri took two again, Quach took one and bet and Mosseri folded. After the third draw Quach showed {8-?} {7-?} {5-?} {3-?} {2-?} and Negreanu flipped {8-?} {4-?} {3-?} {2-?}, needing a five, six or seven to stay alive, but he could only manage a {2-?} and was knocked out.

Sarkeshik Slips Up

Ali Sarkeshik limped in on the button, and John Juanda raised from the big blind. Sarkeshik called again and drew three cards. Juanda needed just one, and he bet again. Sarkeshik picked up two good cards, and he called and drew one more. Juanda stood pat and fired again, and Sarkeshik called again. Juanda would stand pat again, Sarkeshik took one card, and both men checked the last round of betting.

Juanda showed T-9-5-4-3, and that was the best hand. He's up to 80,000 now, while Sarkeshik is hurting badly, down to 6,500.

Hedlund Complains

Though not about anything to do with the tournament, he wanted to complain about the EPT and why he wasn't in the top five 'Most Flamboyant Players' on the tour.

"I can understand Marcel Luske being in there, but Scotty Nguyen? He's American! I should be in there!"

Fisler Fizzles Out

Ryan Fisler - Eliminated
Ryan Fisler - Eliminated
We join a hand in progress after the second draw. Ryan Fisler put out a bet, and his lone opponent, Abe Mosseri raised it up. Fisler called the extra bet, and both men stood pat for the last draw. Mosseri made one more bet, and Fisler called.

Mosseri turned over 7-6-5-3-2, and his seventy-six took down the pot and took Fisler down to his last 12,000.

A couple hands later, Fisler opened a pot with an under-the-gun raise. Masayoshi Tanaka reraised, and Fisler moved all in for 14,000. Tanaka called to put Fisler on the ropes. Each player would draw two cards the whole way with the exception of Tanaka taking just one on the final round.

After his last draw, Fisler tabled his cards: 6-5-4-3-2. Straights are good, but not in this game. Tanaka could only make a jack-ten low, but it was plenty good to take down the pot and send Ryan Fisler out in 17th place.

Le Got Chips in Ninety-Six

Nam Le raised before the draw, and Kris Lord and John Juanda called out of the blinds. Each player drew two cards, and Juanda was the first to bet it. Both opponents called, and they each drew just one card this time. Juanda was allowed to bet again, Le raised, Lord painfully and slowly folded, and Juanda called the extra bet.

On the last draw, Le stood pat while Juanda drew one more card. The action check-checked, and Le tabled 9-6-5-3-2. That's the winner, and Le has chipped his way up to 87,000 now. Juanda has slipped down around 50,000.

Mosseri And Schneider Chop It Up

After the second draw where Daniel Negreanu and Abe Mosseri both drew one card, Julie Schneider stood pat. The two guys both checked dark and Schneider bet 8,000, Negreanu folded but Mosseri called and drew one on the final draw while she stood pat.

Mosseri bet and Schneider called,

Mosseri, "Seven."

Schneider, "Me too."

Mosseri, "Bad seven..."

Schneider, "Me too."

Mosseri, "The worst seven..." showing {7-?} {6-?} {5-?} {4-?} {2-?}

Schneider flipped {7-?} {6-?} {5-?} {4-?} {2-?} and the two of them chopped the pot.

Slowing Down

We've hit the proverbial (and not unexpected) wall. The stacks are relatively deep, and the 17 remaining players seem content to trade small pots for the time being.
