Abraham Mosseri raised it up from middle position, and John Phan called out of the big blind. The Razor would stand pat the whole way with Mosseri drawing two-one-one on the three rounds.
After the first draw, Phan bet and Mosseri called. On the next draw, Phan would be all in for 2,200, and Mosseri was right there to put him at risk. After Mosseri took one last card, Phan tabled 9-7-6-5-3. He was safe as his opponent mucked his hand, sending a big double up to Phan.
Daniel Negreanu raised from the cutoff seat, and Gabriel Nassif made the call from the button. Each player traded in two cards before Nassif bet out and Negreanu called.
On the second draw, Nassif took just one card and bet out, while Negreanu pulled two and called all in for 900 chips. Both men still wanted one card on the final draw.
"What are you drawing to?" Negreanu asked Nassif turned over his hand: 7-6-5-4. "Oh, you're drawing to a straight!" Negreanu squeezed his final card before showing down 4-4-8-5-2 for an ugly pair. Not to worry though, Nassif pulled a three on his last card to make a straight, and Negreanu's pair low was good enough to double him up to about 16,000.
Tuan Le raises the cutoff and Adam Ewenstein called on the button. Both drew two and Le bet, Ewenstein raised and Le called. On the second draw, Le drew one and Ewenstein stood pat, Le then check-raised only to be faced with Ewenstein making it three bets.
Le made the call and both stood pat for the final draw where Ewenstein bet again and Le called.
Ewenstein showed for a number three.
Le was down to 7,000 but got back to 12,000 son after when he made an against Yueqi Zhu to survive.
Miguel Rodriguez made it two bets first to act, and both Tuan Le and Adam Ewenstein called out of the blinds. He drew one card while the other two men picked two. Le checked, Ewenstein bet, and both opponents called. They all wanted one card, and this time Rodriguez made a bet which both blinds called.
On the final draw, Rodriguez patted, Le and Ewenstein took one apiece, and the action checked around. Rodriguez sheepishly tabled J-6-5-4-2, and he watched with elation as Le and Ewenstein mucked in turn. It sounds as if both men broke up a ten low and ended up drawing a worse hand.
After that nice pot, Rodriguez is up to 140,000, leaving Ewenstein with 120,000 and Le with just 12,000.
After dropping down near 10,000, Tuan Le was all in on the next hand versus Adam Ewenstein. After putting in two bets before the draw, Le was all in for 7,000 still needing one card. He drew to a T-9-6-4-2. Ewenstein drew two on the last round, and Le asked, "How you looking?" Ewenstein was still holding his two draw cards, and he flashed them to Le, showing 8-8. That means a double up for Le, sitting now with just over 20,000.
Yueqi Zhu called against Tuan Le's UTG raise. Zhu drew three and Le drew two before Zhu check-called all in. Le drew one and Zhu drew two before they had a final draw where both took a single card.
Zhu showed but could only draw the for a pair of twos. Le held and got the for a J-6-4-3-2. It wasn't much but it was enough to eliminate his opponent.
Tuan Le has finally bid farewell to his chip stack. Hertzel Zalewski was the man who did him in, drawing to the winning smooth eight to send Le out the door.
During one of the earlier breaks, our own Gloria Balding got a chance to catch up with one player who's not exactly sure what he's doing here. At least, he's one of the players who'll admit that freely. Check out what Rick Fuller had to say about his tournament:
