Kessler Clawing Back

Daniel Negreanu limped in from the small blind, and his neighbor Allen Kessler tapped the table for a free draw from the big. He and Negreanu each took three cards before check-checking the bet.

On the next draw, Negreanu took three again while Kessler drew two. Negreanu bet and Kessler called.

Both men stood pat on the final round, with Kessler calling one more bet from Negreanu.

"I got an eight," said Negreanu, prompting Kessler to turn over his own 8. "I got eighty-seven," said the Kid. Kessler showed 8-7. "Eight-seven-six," said Negreanu, and that was where it ended. Kessler opened up the winning 8-7-5-4-2 to take the pot and work his way back up to 12,000.
