Up and Down for Woodward

Matt Woodward raised to 10,500 from the cutoff, and Michael Martin reraised all in for about 20,000. It folded back to Woodward who called, showing {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades} versus Martin's {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}. The board ran out queen-high, and Woodward's nines held up. Martin is out, and after that one Woodward was up to 80,000.

Soon after, though, Woodward fell back down in a hand against Malte Strothman. Woodward had raised under the gun to 4,500, Strothman reraised to 11,000 from the small blind, and Woodward called. The flop came {6-Spades}{3-Spades}{7-Diamonds}, Strothman continued with a bet, Woodward came over the top all in, and Strothman called with his last chips, showing {3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} for a set of treys versus Woodward's {8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}.

The turn was the {6-Diamonds}, giving Strothman the boat and leaving Woodward drawing dead. Strothman is up close to 100,000 now, and Woodward back down to 22,000.
