Chad Brown Eliminated

Two long days of poker proved fruitless for Chad Brown. He made a final stand against the chip leader, Max Pescatori, and didn't survive to see the next hand. Brown made two pair, tens and threes, but knuckled under to Pescatori's bigger two pair, jacks and fours.

Brown picked up his backpack, said his farewells, and then sauntered out of the tournament area with a final sigh.

Look Who's Charging Now

Chad Brown completed the bring-in, and Daniel Negreanu raised it up. Brown fired another raise back, and Negreanu made the call.

Brown: (X-X) / {A-Clubs} {7-Hearts} {4-Spades} {10-Clubs} / (X)
Negreanu: (X-X) / {K-Hearts} {A-Spades} {4-Clubs} {4-Hearts} / (X)

On fourth and fifth streets, Negreanu check-called single bets from Brown. Both men checked sixth street. On seventh street, Negreanu bet out, Brown raised, and Negreanu came back over the top. Brown took his time to consider before flashing a second ace-seven in the hole, and laying his two pair down.

After that exchange, Brown has dipped all the way down to 33,000. Negreanu, on the other hand, has been storming toward the top for about three hours now. After playing much of this event with a short stack, Kid Poker is all the way up to a very healthy 300,000 now.

Chips Swinging

Nick Frangos completed the bring-in with the {8-Hearts}, and Keith Sexton put in a raise showing the {K-Spades}. Brian Goddard's {4-Clubs} was worth a call, and Frangos called the extra bet as well.

Goddard: (X-X) / {4-Clubs} {A-Hearts} {2-Spades} {3-Spades} / (X)
Frangos: (X-X) / {8-Hearts} {2-Hearts} {5-Hearts} {K-Diamonds} / (X)
Sexton : (X-X) / {K-Spades} {3-Clubs} {7-Spades} {9-Diamonds} / (X)

Goddard led out on fourth street with his ace-four. Frangos called, while Sexton raised the table. Both opponents stayed in. Frangos picked up a third heart on fifth street, and he bet out this time, getting two calls. The sixth street action was the same. On seventh street, Goddard checked, Frangos bet again, and Sexton called all in for his last 2,500. Goddard opted to raise, and Frangos finally let his hand go.

Goddard opened up {A-Spades} {A-Clubs} {6-Clubs}, his trip aces plenty good to win the pot. He has chipped up to 190,000, leaving Frangos with just 45,000, and eliminating Keith Sexton in his wake.

Dehkharghani Moves Over Three Bills

Without the miracle of copy-and-paste, we would be less excited bout Ray Dehkharghani's climb up the chip counts. We're sure he's a great guy but his name doesn't exactly roll off the fingertips.

In any event, Dehkharghani is up to 310,000 after taking a pot away from Miami John Cernuto. The lead changed back and forth several times throughout the hand, but in th end it was Dehkharghani betting the river showing (X-X) / {7-Hearts} {9-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} / (X). Cernuto had (X-X) / {A-Diamonds} {5-Clubs} {9-Clubs} {5-Spades} / (X) and elected to fold.

Cernuto is down to 155,000 -- still plenty of chips to work with, but not as many as they once seemed.

The Comeback Kid (Poker)

Daniel Negreanu was struggling earlier in the day, falling at one point to less than 20,000 in chips. He's flying high now, having climbed all the way up to 290,000 to climb to fourth in chips with 27 remaining.

There's a Rampaging Pirate on the Loose

Chris Amaral and his cheerleader
Chris Amaral and his cheerleader
Look out, stud world. WSOP bracelet winner Max Pescatori is on a rampage. He has stormed to the top of the counts with 420,000 after eliminating Chris Amaral. Amaral couldn't compete with the ten-high heart flush that the Italian Pirate showed down.

With that elimination, we're down to four tables. Half of the remaining field gets paid; half goes home with nothing.

Brown Takes Out Billirakis

Steve Billirakis Out
Steve Billirakis Out
Steve Billirakis completed the bring-in bet, drawing a raise from Eric Brooks. Chad Brown made another raise on top, and Billirakis made the call, putting himself all in in the process. Brooks called the extra bet as well.

Billirakis: (X-X) / {9-Spades} {4-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} / (X)
Brooks: (X-X) / {K-Hearts} {7-Hearts} {6-Spades} {Q-Clubs} / (X)
Brown: (X-X) / {Q-Hearts} {6-Hearts} {9-Clubs} {A-Diamonds} / (X)

Brooks check-called bets on fourth and fifth streets. On sixth, Brown bet his ace, and Brooks finally surrendered his cards. With the betting closed now, Brown turned over {K-Clubs} {Q-Spades}, and drew the {Q-Diamonds} on seventh, improving to three of a kind. Billirakis sweated his seventh card, but it was no use. He folded without showing, stood up, and headed for the exit sign.

Chad Brown is up to 252,000.
