Mueller Catches Miracle

Greg Mueller - sticking around
Greg Mueller - sticking around
Greg Mueller was down, way way waaaaaaaay down in chips. After bringing in the {2-Clubs} and being called in two spots, Max Pescatori completed with the {10-Hearts}. Mueller then raised all in for 15,000 and was called by all three opponents. They checked all the way to sixth street. There the boards were:

Mueller: (X-X) / {2-Clubs} {Q-Clubs} {9-Diamonds} {6-Clubs}
Wahlbeck: (X-X) / {5-Clubs} {A-Hearts} {3-Clubs} {7-Spades}
Ellis: (X-X) / {J-Clubs} {K-Hearts} {2-Spades} {J-Diamonds}
Pescatori: (X-X) / {10-Hearts} {7-Clubs} {Q-Hearts} {3-Spades}

Freddie Ellis bet his board; only Wahlbeck called. They checked the river, prompting Ellis to turn up {Q-Spades} {9-Spades} {8-Clubs} (a pair of jacks). When Wahlbeck mucked, Mueller showed {A-Diamonds} {5-Clubs} and began to squeeze his last card. He needed an ace or a queen, but all of the queens were already dead. He squeezed clean across... and pulled the {A-Spades} to stay in the tournament.

Mueller now has about 80,000.
