Humberto Brenes Eliminated

Humberto Brenes put all of his chips in the middle preflop and got one caller. Brenes showed {K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} while his opponent showed {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}.

The race didn't last long as the flop came {9-Hearts}{5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}. A meaningless {4-Diamonds} and {7-Spades} sent Brenes to the rail.

A Tough Table

As the room consolidates, there are some tough tables developing. One of the hardest in the room right now is #2 which has Brandon Cantu, Michael Pesek, Clark Hamagami, Michael Martin and Matt Brady.

Brother vs. Brother

Another interesting table is #41 which features two bracelet winners from 2008. Blair and Grant Hinkle are seated in the 3 and 6 seats, and have been playing together for much of the day.

Blair has 26,000 chips while Grant has 34,000.

Danny Wong's Stack Shrinks

After raising preflop, Danny Wong called the small blind's all-in reraise for an additional 5,275.

Wong showed {2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} while his opponent held {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}. A flop of {K-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} put Wong way behind, and the {J-Clubs} and {7-Diamonds} didn't improve his hand.

Wong now has 7,700 chips.

Brandon Cantu Takes a Pot

In a raised pot, Brandon Cantu and his opponent both checked a flop of {2-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}. When the {4-Hearts} came on the turn, Cantu check-raised all in forcing his opponent to fold.

Cantu is sitting on a stack of about 10,000.

A Chip Leader Emerges

Gary Tang
Gary Tang
Gary Tang is currently sitting on the biggest stack in the room with right around 120,000.

Tang told us he amassed the stack after raising with {J-Clubs}{9-Clubs} from the cutoff. He was called by both blinds and led out for 3,300 on a flop of {J-Spades}{J-Hearts}{7-Clubs} when the action checked to him. The small blind folded and the big blind called.

The big blind check-raised all in when the {K-Diamonds} hit the turn and Tang said he took about 30 seconds before making the call. When the {4-Diamonds} hit the river, Tang took the pot and the chip lead.
