Smith Enjoying The Ride

Josh Smith just recalled to us a hand that according to him was “misplayed” that sent a 600,000 pot to his opponent.

Jacob Kalb started the action with a raise to 19,250 before Travis Johnson popped it up to 62,000 on the button. Josh Smith sensed some weakness and made it 148,000 to go from the small blind. Kalb folded but Johnson wasn’t mucking around as he moved all in for 300,000.

Smith sighed, did some math and decided he was now priced in to call with his {K-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} however he was up against Johnson’s pocket queens. The flop brought a sweat with two diamonds but the turn and river bricked out.

Smith was dented but recovered some chips soon after his pocket kings took down a nice pot on a queen-high flop against an opponent with {Q-?}{J-?}. Smith’s rollercoaster ride now sees him sitting with 300,000 chips.
