Robert Stevanovski Eliminated in 18th Place ($6,969)

Robert Truijers took the liberty of raising in middle position and got called by Robert Stevanovski. The flop came down {4-Hearts}{8-Spades}{9-Clubs} and both players checked. However, when the {q-Hearts} came on the turn, Stevanovski bet, with Truijers calling. The river was the {3-Spades} and all of Stevanovski's chips got in the middle when he bet and called Truijers' raise for his last 2,000.

Upon seeing the {8-}{8-} of Truijers, Stevanovski mucked his hand and wished everyone at the table good luck before making an exit.

Neeman Doubles, Needs to Double 23 More Times

Frank Kassela raised in late position and Jeff Neeman reraised all in from the big blind. A swift call, and a showdown.

Kassela: {a-Spades}{7-Clubs}
Neeman: {j-Spades}{8-Spades}

"My favorite hand," said Neeman, before qualifying the statement, "Well, it has to be my favorite hand now."

Board: {2-Hearts}{q-Spades}{3-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{5-Spades}

"There you go, there's the nuts," said Kassela.

"Just 23 more of those to go," said the still dangerously short Neeman as he doubled to 25,000.

Jeff Neeman Eliminated in 17th Place ($6,969)

It folded around to the hapless Jeff Neeman in the small blind, who went all in for 11,000 total, less than a full raise. Dean Tran in the big blind sort of waved his hand around so people could see it, wondering whether it was worth it, and then made the call.

Neeman: {q-Clubs}{j-Spades}
Tran: the lowly {2-Hearts}{3-Spades}

Board: {k-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} ... {2-Diamonds}

We are down to 16 players as we head into the last half hour of play.

Threes Company Too Much for Truijers

Dean Tran was in middle position and raised preflop, only to have to call a re-raise from Robert Truijers. There was no action on the {10-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} flop.

The {3-Hearts} paired the board on the turn, and Truijers called Tran's bet. When the river added the {3-Spades} to the mix, Dean bet once more and Truijers tanked for a while, almost putting his chips in a few times, saying "You're not bluffing here, are you?" Tran did his best to withhold any tells, but showed {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts} when Truijers folded. We got no sign from Truijers as to whether or not Dean's hand would have been good.

Chan Tripped Up by Potter

Chan - sad face
Chan - sad face

Terrence Chan raised and was met with a reraise from Jason Potter in the small blind. Chan called and they saw some community cards.

Potter bet out on the {10-Spades}{j-Spades}{j-Hearts} flop and Chan called; but both players checked the {3-Spades} on the turn. Come the {2-Clubs} river, Potter bet out again and Chan called - only to muck when Potter turned over {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs} for trips.

Chan - down to 205,000
Potter - up to 327,000

Lamb to the Slaughter

Terrence Chan opened, and then called the reraise from Ben Lamb in the small blind. Interesting.

Lamb bet out on the {5-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{3-Spades} flop and Chan flat called; he bet out again on the {q-Hearts} turn and this time Chan raised. Lamb made the call. Come the {10-Diamonds} river Lamb merely check-called, and promptly mucked to Chan's {k-Spades}{q-Spades} for top pair.

Chan's stack increased to a healthy 305,000, but Lamb was left with just 10,000. Looks like it could be a short run from here on in for last year's 14th place Main Event finisher...
