Painter Wins One More

Frank Kassela was in the small blind and dared raise Jameson Painter, who has been winning some big hands as of late. Painter called and the two saw a flop of {k-Hearts}{3-Spades}{4-Diamonds}. Kassela would lead off with a bet on the flop, getting called by Painter.

Kassela did not bet the turn's {5-Hearts}, but called Painter's bet, which he would do again when the river came {10-Diamonds}.

Painter showed {j-Clubs}{k-Clubs} for top pair, while Kessela showed a miss draw with {8-Hearts}{9-Hearts}.

Wave Your Hands in the Air Like You Just Don't Cairns

David Cairns got his last in on a {5-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{k-Clubs} flop with {k-Hearts} and was delighted to find he was ahead of Frank Kassela's {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}. Furthermore Cairns stayed ahead down the {q-Diamonds} turn and {6-Diamonds} river to double to a still rather precarious 45,000.

Cairns stood with both arms raised in victory.

"It's the start to the bracelet comeback from the guy who has NO idea how to play the game," he declared. Then he sat back down, and play continued.

Big Slick no Good for Geary

Jim Geary raised from early position and was re-pooped Marco Traniello, who was sitting two seats to his left. Geary made the call and the flop was delivered {7-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{a-Hearts}.

Geary check-raised the flop, which put him all in. Traniello made the call, and they turned up their cards.

Geary: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}
Traniello: {7-Clubs}{7-Spades}

Geary was visibly (and obviously) dissapointed when he saw Traniello's flopped set. He couldn't catch a runner-runner miracle when the turn and river came {8-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}.

Kerses!

Andrew Kerstine was reduced to just 10,000 when he couldn't beat Hope Williams' {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds} for two pair at the end of a {2-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{8-Spades}{5-Clubs} board.

And so it was that Kerstine found himself all in a hand or two later, and up against Terrence Chan and Adrian Dresel-Velasquez. By the time the {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{q-Clubs}2c} board had run out, Kerstine hadn't a hope - his {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades} were no good as Chan turned over {k-Spades}{k-Hearts} which were in turn no good against Dresel-Velasquez' {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades} which had made a set.

Kerstine duly hit the rail.

Spreading the Love

We don't know who did it, but one poker player has just made the lady at the Mexican food stand in the Poker Kitchen incredibly happy, by tipping her $100.

"I love you," she told him.

Whoever it was, we reckon there's a special place being saved for him in poker heaven.

David Cairns Eliminated in 23rd Place ($5,644)

David Cairns

Betting was capped preflop, but David Cairns and Adrian Dresel-Velasquez decided to get all the chips in the middle before we even saw a flop putting Cairns' tournament life at risk.

Cairns tabled {3-}{3-} and Dresel-Velasquez joined the race with {a-}{q-}. Cairns fell behind on a flop of {q-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and wasn't able to catch up with the {6-Spades} on the turn or the {7-Clubs} on the river.
