Cloutier Cripples Danzer

After David Baker folded, George Danzer raised all in for his last 463,000 from the small blind, and Eric Cloutier called with his last 419,000 from the big blind. Danzer drew two cards, and Cloutier one.

Cloutier had {5-}{6-}{7-}{3-}, and his new card was a {10-}. Danzer tabled {9-}{5-}{3-}. The first drawn card was a {4-}, and he was still live. But the fifth card was the {k-}, and Danzer is now crippled, down to about 50,000.

"George can make it happen, oh-oh-oh-oh!" sang his fans afterward. It's going to be tough for the German pro, however.

John Juanda Eliminated in 4th Place ($78,088)

John Juanda, eliminated in 4th
John Juanda, eliminated in 4th

John Juanda pushed his last 152,000 in the middle from under the gun, and it folded around to David Baker who instantly called from the big blind.

Baker took one card, and Juanda two. Baker tabled {10-}{8-}{7-}{3-}, and picked up a {5-} to make a 10. Juanda spread his three cards -- {9-}{5-}{2-} -- and showed the two aces he was throwing away. He turned over the first drawn card -- the {K-} -- meaning the {4-} he also picked up was of no matter.

Juanda is out, yet another knockout by Baker. Baker is now up to 2.13 million with three players left -- more than two-thirds of the chips in play.

A Danzer Double, Juanda Loses Some More

John Juanda pushed all in from the small blind, and George Danzer called with his last 287,000 from the big blind. Each drew one card. Let's go to the squeeze...

Juanda {9-}{8-}{4-}{2-}... {2-}
Danzer {8-}{4-}{3-}{2-}... {7-}

Danzer doubles to 632,000. Meanwhile, Juanda has had a rough 25 minutes here in Level 25. After beginning the level with the chip lead, he's now last with 166,000.

Baker Is Cooking

The table folded around to David Baker who raised to 90,000 from the small blind, and John Juanda called from the BB. Baker stood pat, while Juanda drew two cards.

Baker bet 120,000, and Juanda thought for a while before calling. Baker showed {8-}{7-}{5-}{4-}{3-}. Juanda showed a couple of cards -- a {9-} and a {5-} -- before mucking his hand.

Baker is now way up to 1.7 million, while Juanda has 400,000.

Bombs Away from Baker

In the second hand back from the break, David Baker opened with a raise to 80,000 from under the gun, then John Juanda reraised to 185,000 from the button. The blinds folded, then Baker announced he was all in!

Juanda waited about thirty seconds, then folded.

Baker would bet Juanda out of the next hand before the draw as well, and just like that has 1.45 million to Juanda's 670,000.

Juanda Doubles Through Danzer, Challenges for Chip Lead

John Juanda
John Juanda

George Danzer raised to 65,000 from under the gun, and it folded around to John Juanda who shoved all in from the big blind for 511,000. Danzer made the call.

Juanda discarded one, and Danzer stood pat, tabling {10-}{9-}{7-}{6-}{3-}. Juanda spread his first four -- {7-}{5-}{4-}{3-} -- and squeezed the new one: an {8-}. Juanda not only survived, but catapults up close to the chip lead with more than a million. Meanwhile, Danzer slips to 367,000, fourth of four as we head to the break.

Doug Booth Eliminated in 5th Place ($55,483)

Doug Booth opened by shoving all in for his last 367,000 from the button, then David Baker reraised all in with his big stack of 800,000 from the small blind. John Juanda tanked for a couple of minutes, then folded what he said after was a pat 10.

Both Baker and Booth were drawing one card. Baker showed {8-}{5-}{3-}{2-}, and Booth {9-}{7-}{6-}{3-}. Baker drew a {9-}, giving him a ninety-eight. And Booth drew an {A-}, meaning he'd been eliminated.

Baker now has 1,110,000 and is the chip leader by a wide margin.
