Tick, Tock, Tick, Tock

We're about a half-dozen hands into hand-for-hand play, with nothing particularly dramatic having occurred. The first two or three of those hands each lasted more than five minutes, as players stalled, allowing others to make those bathroom dashes. Now that everyone is staying at their tables, the hands are taking 2-3 minutes each to play.

An Unreal Wheel

Well, that was exciting.

John Juanda raised to 11,000 from under the gun, then Daniel Negreanu announced he was all in. He counted out his stack -- 64,500. It folded back to Juanda, who made the call.

"We're in the money now," said Juanda with a grin as he indicated he was standing pat. Negreanu tossed in one {2-}, tabling his remaining cards -- {7-}{5-}{4-}{2-}. Juanda spread out his hand: {9-}{8-}{6-}{4-}{3-}.

The dealer delivered Negreanu his card and he squeezed -- a {3-}! "A wheel!" exclaimed Negreanu. "Unreal!"

Negreanu doubles back to 135,000. Juanda has 182,000.

Hilderbrand out in 15th, Bubble Bursts

In the hand following that dramatic one between Juanda and Negreanu, Par Hilderbrand raised to 11,500 from the cutoff, and Doug Booth reraised to 31,500 from the button. The blinds folded, Hildebrand pushed all in for about 40,000 more, and Booth called.

Booth ended up showing he'd been dealt a pat wheel -- {7-}{5-}{4-}{3-}{2-} -- and Hilderbrand couldn't overcome it. He's out in 15th, and we're in the money!

Break Time

The remaining 14 players are now taking that long-delayed 20-minute break. When they return, they will redraw for seats around the final two seven-handed tables.

We'll get fresh counts and seating assignments for you on the other side.

Gould Avoids Straight, Survives

After four hands that didn't reach a second draw over at Table 316, we finally had a hand develop into something a little more substantial.

Peter Gould pushed all in with his last 24,000, and the table folded back around to Erik Seidel who called from the big blind. Both players were drawing one. Seidel tabled {J-}{7-}{6-}{4-} and picked up a {2-}. Meanwhile, Gould had the not-so-hot {6-}{5-}{4-}{3-}, but luckily picked up a {10-} and survived.

Gould has about 55,000 now -- still 14th of 14 remaining -- and Seidel has 170,000.

Brown Takes One Down

Eric Kesselman raised to 13,500 from middle position, and Chad Brown called from the hijack seat. Both players drew one card. Kesselman then bet 23,000, and Brown made the call.

Brown spread out his hand -- {9-}{7-}{6-}{4-}{2-} -- and Kesselman mucked. Brown now has 155,000, while Kesselman still sits with 265,000.
