Dwan Calls with a Pair

Tom Dwan
Tom Dwan

Tom Dwan raised to 1,675 and Tom Schneider called in the cutoff seat. John Monnette called on the button and then Andy Bloch called from the small blind. Four players went to the draw and first to decide was Bloch. He tossed away one card before Dwan took two. Schneider drew one and then Monnette drew one.

After the draw, action checked to Schneider. He fired 4,500 and Monnette folded. Bloch folded as well and then Dwan thought about it for a little while before making the call. Shneider held a pair of threes in his hand and Dwan called him with the {9-}{4-}{3-}{2-}{2-}, a pair of his own with deuces. Dwan's hand was good and his read was spot on. He's now up to 50,000 chips. Schneider's down to 33,000.
