Harman Gets Much Needed Boost

Jennifer Harman
Jennifer Harman

Harman: {a-Clubs} {q-Spades} {k-Hearts} / {q-Hearts} {4-Clubs} {a-Diamonds} {q-Clubs}
Opponent: (X-X-X) / {2-Diamonds} {k-Spades} {5-Clubs} {q-Diamonds}

Jennifer Harman completed on third street and got a call from one opponent at the table. When her opponent checked fourth street, Harman bet, and her opponent called. Harman led out with bets from fifth-seventh street with her opponent calling the whole way. When it was all over Harman tabled a full house and her opponent mucked.

Harman how has 2,600 chips.

Jimmied Out

Fricke - no longer here
Fricke - no longer here

Going by the evidence of Jimmy Fricke heading for the door and a total of zero chips in his former seat, our blogging spidey senses tell us that Jimmy Fricke is bust.

About That Boost For Harman...

Sure enough, moments after reporting that Jennifer Harman had collected some much-needed chips, she was eliminated in a huge pot involving Scott Lake and two other opponents at her table. By the time action got to seventh street, there were three players left in the pot with betting capped. Harman tabled sevens full of twos while Lake bested her with queens full of nines. Scott Lake is now up to 5,000 chips.

Buss and Lakers Both Slip

Buss: {k-Diamonds} {j-Spades} {3-Clubs} / {k-Hearts} {5-Hearts} {4-Hearts} {a-Spades}
Opponent: {8-Spades} {4-Spades} {10-Hearts} / {8-Diamonds} {4-Clubs} {9-Spades} {q-Hearts}

We came about this hand on fourth street when Jerry Buss' opponent had called a bet from Buss. On fifth street Buss made another bet and called a raise from his opponent. On sixth street, Buss checked, his opponent bet, and Buss called.

Both players checked seventh street and Buss' pair of kings lost to his opponents two pair.

Buss is now down to 3,200 chips. To make matter worse, it looks like his Lakers are about to lose to the Celtics.

Schwartz Looking Bright

Ylon Schwartz, who's already had three cashes this Series including one final table, is up to an impressive 12,000 or so.

Most recently we saw him turn over trip kings which elicited a muck from his opponent, and a 3,000 pot was added to his already chunky stack.

Stann Almost Right, Call All Wrong

Stann: {10-} {a-} {3-} / {a-Hearts} {q-Hearts} {10-Clubs} {q-Clubs}
Seat Six: {4-} {4-} {6-} / {8-Diamonds} {2-Clubs} {4-Spades} {a-Diamonds}

We arrived to this hand in time to see Dave Stann make a bet on sixth street. His opponent called and Stann checked seventh street. When his opponent bet, Stann looked disgusted, saying "You got a flush? You've got a flush or a straight?"

Stann threw a chip into the pot to make the call. While he was wrong about the flush or the straight, he was right that he was beat. Stann's opponent showed a set of fours, which beat Stann's two pair.

Rutter Chaus Down

Chau Giang: {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}(X) / {6-Spades}{6-Hearts}{k-Spades}{6-Spades}
Stuart Rutter: {a-Hearts}(X)(X) / {10-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{j-Hearts}

Four players were in the hand on fourth street, when Chau Giang bet out. Stuart Rutter was the only caller, meaning that there were only two players in by fifth.

Giang continued to bet on fifth and sixth, and on seventh he bet all in. Rutter called the whole way and turned over an ace-high flush, but Giang revealed a full house to double to around 3,000. Rutter, who took third place in the $5,000 No Limit Hold'em Shootout a few days ago, was left with just 800.
