Schedule Notes, Take 3

The floor just announced a new plan for this afternoon, so we'll pass it along just like we did the first two. Now players will finish this level (about 15 minutes) and take a 10-minute break. Yes, we know that makes 30 minutes of break after 92 minutes of play. Then they will return to play two more levels before taking a 60-minute dinner break. No word yet on whether they will play six or seven levels after dinner.

Bubble Approaching

The action is slowing waaaay down as everyone in the room has suddenly realized they're les than 10 eliminations away from the money. Hand-for-hand should begin soon after the players return from the next break.

Sands Scoops

With a late position raise to 1,800, and a player all-in for less in the small blind, Dave Sands made the call in the big blind to see a flop of {6-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{4-Clubs}.

Sands checked to the late-position player who bet 2,200 into the side pot. Sands then check-raised to 7,000 to force a fold from his opponent.

Sands showed {K-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for a flush draw but it was surprisingly ahead as the small blind (who hadn't looked at his cards) revealed {J-Clubs}{9-Clubs}.

The turn was the {K-Diamonds} and river the {7-Hearts} and Sands improved to two pair to take it down and eliminate his opponent. He's up to 46,000.

Tom Dwan eliminated
Tom Dwan eliminated

On the last hand before the break, Tom "durrrr" Dwan was involved in a three-way pot that has left his quest for his first bracelet to wait for another day.

Each player threw 2,000 into the pot to see a flop of {5-Spades}{J-Hearts}{7-Clubs}. Action checked to the Grayson Ramage who was the preflop aggressor and he fired 3,700. Dwan added another 4,700 to the bet to force the third player from the pot, but his Ramage made the call.

The turn brought the {5-Hearts} and play checked to Dwan who moved all in. Ramage made the call.

Dwan: {A-Spades}{J-Diamonds}
Ramage: {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}

Top pair, top kicker for Dwan wasn't enough as Ramage showed the overpair, and Dwan couldn't improve on the {9-Diamonds} river. Dwan bubbles this event and Ramage is at 76,000 as the players head off to their break.

Bubble Time!

As the players return from their break, the announcement is made that we are now on the money bubble! We need one more elimination before we're in the money and play is now hand-for-hand across all tables.

In the Money!

They have just announced all remaining players are in the money. There was some quiet cheering and few victory dances, and things quickly got back to normal. Players are back in action, sans headphones and iPods. Expect a flurry of busts and a line at the payout desk in a few moment.s

Chen Gets More Respect Than He Wants

An under-the-gun player raised to 3,000, and Andrew Chen called from middle position. The woman next to act called as well, and they were three-handed to a {j-Clubs}{4-Spades}{2-Clubs} flop. The original raiser checked, and Chen bet 4,500. The next player folded, and the under-the-gun man tossed {a-}{k-} into the muck face up. Chen groaned at their folds, showing {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} as he took a smaller-than-hoped-for pot.
