Michael Watson Eliminated in 21st Place ($17,138)

Mike Watson - 21st Place
Mike Watson - 21st Place

The short stacks are getting it in, and not all of them are getting it back out. Mike Watson bet the turn of a {k-Spades} {3-Hearts} {7-Hearts} {5-Hearts} board, then called all in after Abe Mosseri raised. Mosseri turned over a small flush and a low, {2-Hearts} {3-Clubs} {4-Hearts} {9-Hearts}. Watson had unimproved aces and a worse low, {a-Diamonds} {k-Diamonds} {8-Spades} {a-Hearts}. The river {4-Spades} sent him of to the cage to collect his winnings.

Jose de Paz Eliminated in 20th Place ($17,138)

Jose De Paz - 20th Place
Jose De Paz - 20th Place

Some of the eliminations are coming so quick that we can't keep up with the action. After the elimination of Mike Watson, we returned to the outer tables just as Jose de Paz was being eliminated. His {a-Spades} {3-Hearts} {8-Clubs} {9-Spades} couldn't overtake Eric Baldwin's {a-Diamonds} {3-Spades} {9-Diamonds} {q-Spades} after the board rolled out {10-Spades} {2-Clubs} {10-Clubs} {10-Diamonds} {a-Spades}. Each player made three tens, but Baldwin's ace-queen played stronger than Paz's ace-nine.

Mosseri Chops with Shamardin

James Dempsey raised from early position and then Abe Mosseri reraised from the small blind. Oleg Shamardin called from the big blind and Dempsey also called.

The flop came down {7-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} and Mosseri bet out. Shamardin called and then Dempsey folded. The turn card added the {8-Spades} to the board and Mosseri bet out again. Shamardin called.

The river completed the board with the {J-Hearts} and Mosseri bet out again. Shamardin called and watched Mosseri tabled the {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}{7-Spades}{3-Diamonds}. Shamardin held a better low with the {A-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} and the two chopped up the pot. Mosseri has 750,000 in chips and Shamardin 300,000.

Wong Backs Into Two Pair

Steve Wong raised and then Tai Nguyen reraised. Wong made the call and the two players took a flop of {Q-Clubs}{9-Spades}{4-Clubs} and Wong bet out. Nguyen made the call.

Wong then bet the turn and river with Nguyen calling on each street after they came the {K-Hearts} and {7-Hearts}. Wong tabled the {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{4-Hearts} for two pair, kings and fours, and Nguyen mucked.

Wong moved up to 477,000 in chips while Nguyen dropped to 170,000.

John D'Agostino Eliminated in 18th Place ($21,582)

John D'Agostino - 18th Plac
John D'Agostino - 18th Plac

John D'Agostino was all in for his last few thousand chips against James Dempsey and Oleg Shamardin. The final board read {7-Spades}{5-Hearts}{4-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} and D'Agostino held the {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}. Unfortunately for him, Dempsey held the {A-Clubs}{5-Spades}{2-Spades}{2-Diamonds} for the nut low and better trips. Shamardin showed just the {6-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} and mucked his hand.

D'Agostino took home $21,582 for his finish.

Merksick's Flush Scoops

Sergey Altbregin, Tony Merksick and James Dempsey all took a flop of {10-Hearts} {2-Spades} {7-Hearts}. Dempsey was last to act and fired out a bet when the action checked to him. Altbregin and Merksick both called to see a third heart, the {q-Hearts}, come on the turn. That card seemed to agree with Merksick. He led into Dempsey after Altbregin checked. Only Dempsey called.

Both players checked the {7-Clubs} that paired the board on the river. Merksick showed the nut flush, {a-Hearts} {4-Hearts} {6-Diamonds} {q-Clubs}, to collect the pot. He's up to 325,000.
