Papola Pops a Double

Jeffrey Papola raised to 32,000 from under the gun and Alexander Ivarsson called from the small blind. Justin Smith called from the big blind. The flop came down {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{5-Spades} and action checked to the preflop raiser. Papola bet out 48,000 and Ivarsson raised to 125,000. Smith folded and then Papola moved all in for 227,000 more (352,000). Ivarsson called.

Ivarsson held the {K-Spades}{6-Spades} for top pair of kings, but he was out-kicked by the {K-Clubs}{Q-Spades} or Papola. The turn brought the {9-Diamonds} and the river completed the board with the {A-Diamonds}.

Papola was able to double up to roughly 750,000 while Ivarsson slipped to 600,000 in chips.

¡Vamos!

On the flop of {J-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}, Martins Adeniya flopped top pair with the {J-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} against the middle set of Javier Etayo with the {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}. Adeniya also held a gutshot straight draw. On the flop, the betting went Adeniya 42,000, Etayo 127,000, Adeniya 400,000, Etayo all in for 520,000. Adeniya was priced in by then and made the call.

Easy Eddy

Martins Adeniya opened to 48,000 from the cutoff and Eddy Scharf defended his big blind.

The flop fell {4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{k-Hearts} and Scharf check-called 62,000 from Adeniya.

Both players checked after the {2-Spades} turned and Scharf slid out a tiny bet once the {4-Spades} rivered; 40,000. Adeniya tanked for a moment, chewing on some gum and eying up Scharf before raising to 160,000. Scharf immediately announced call and turned over {k-Clubs}{j-Hearts}.

Adeniya stood up to verify Scharf's cards and then placed his own two in the muck.

Scharf increased his stack to 735,000 chips and Adeniya dropped down to 310,000.

The dealer delivered the {2-Diamonds} on the river and Papola led again - this time for 130,000. Davis called but mucked after Papola opened {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for a diamond flush.

Papola: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

Solomon snatched the lead after binking a three-outer on the {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{8-Clubs} flop. Papola picked up some extra outs with the {10-Spades} on the turn, but the {4-Clubs} bricked on the river dropping him to 485,000 chips.

Solomon doubled to 875,000 chips thanks to the fortuitous flop.
