Welcome back to the 2010 World Series of Poker!

Today is Day 1 of Event #26: $2,500 No-Limit Hold'em / Six Handed which is our third of five short-handed events at this year's series. The remaining short handed events are the $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em / Six Handed and the much anticipated $25,000 No-Limit Hold'em / Six Handed.

The field should be very impressive today. Short handed play attracts the best live and online players alike and the $2,500 buy-in will attract less people than your average stimulus event but the average skill level is sure to increase.

Brock "T Soprano" Parker took this event down last year and it was his second short handed bracelet won THAT WEEK. He defeated Joe Serock heads up and took home $552,745 with his shiny, new bracelet.

The cards are set to be in the air at 12:00 p.m. PST after our tournament director gives us that famous phrase: "Shuffle up and deal!"

We hope you will join us for this and every event at the 2010 WSOP right here at PokerNews.com!

Heads Up Action Anyone?

Just like in the previous six-handed events at the World Series, many tables have begun play short-handed and even heads up!

There haven't been any heads up bust outs as yet, but it's still early for these folk!

With the Pavilion Room being split up into two sections, here are the first round of notables.

Josh Arieh, Nikolay Evdakov, Justin Bonomo, Neil Channing, Barry Greenstein, Antonio Esfandiari, Barny Boatman, recent bracelet winners Michael Mizrachi and Simon Watt have taken their seats in the tournament.

For those of the online fame, so far Jordan Morgan, Kevin Saul, James Mackey, David Benefields, Eddy Sabat, Jay Rosenkrantz, Jeff Williams, Hevad Khan, Shannon Shorr, Jason Potter and Justin Young have all been spotted.

Still Arriving

Amit Makhija, Faraz Jaka, Jared Hamby, Carter King, Layne Flack, Lauren Kling, John Duthie, Erik Seidel, Humberto Brenes, Dutch Boyd, Shawn Buchanan, Gavin Griffin, Scott Seiver, Carter Phillips, Chris Moorman and Allen Cunningham are just a few that have recently taken their seats.

Cellucci Finds Early Double

After some heavy preflop action a flop of {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{9-Clubs} fell down with Stephen Cellucci firing out a small bet of 1,000 into an already sizeable pot.

His opponent in the big blind quickly check-raised all in with Cellucci instantly making the call.

Cellucci: {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}
Opponent: {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}

The turn and river blanked out with the {5-Diamonds} and {2-Spades} to see Cellucci take the probable chip lead with around 19,000 in chips.

Welcome ElkY

Bertrand 'ElkY' Grospellier took his seat in today's tournament and bumped it up straight from the button to 125.

His opponent in the small blind tossed a 425-chip three-bet and Grospellier folded.

Nice welcome for the French poker star!
