Welcome Back

Count these Daniel :)

Welcome back to the Rio for the 2010 World Series of Poker!

Yesterday, 1,245 entrants flooded the Pavilion Room with dreams of money stacks and WSOP gold. Now, it's Day 2 of Event #26: $2,500 No-Limit Hold'em / Six Handed and only 156 runners remain.

William Haydon enters the day as our chip leader with 179,300 chips to his name. Following him are Luigi Caramatti (171,400), Timothy Begley (167,700) and Erik Cajelais (163,000).

There are plenty of notables still in the field including Cajelais, Al "Sugar Bear" Barbieri (133,000), Andrew Robl (119,400), Jeff Shulman (112,400), Florian Langmann (111,500), Justin "Boosted J" Smith (87,600) and Daniel Negreanu (53,000).

There is also a former Main Event Champion in the field; Jerry Yang. Yang was the first player to eclipse six-figures yesterday and finished the day with 105,500 chips.

We are just 30 eliminations away from the money and the plan today is to either play down to a final table or until the players and/or tournament staff deem it too late to continue.

Regardless of the length of the day, we hope you join us for this and every event of the 2010 WSOP right here at PokerNews.com!

Waco Out

Mark Hauge opened to 2,300 from under the gun and the action folded to Alexander Yen in the cutoff who moved all in for 11,700. The action was then on Jared "TheWacoKidd" Hamby in the small blind who tanked momentarily.

"Alright," he said. "I'm all in."

He turned over {A-Spades}{J-Spades} not realizing Hauge still had to act and when he realized this he quickly flipped his cards back over. Hauge tanked for a bit before finally calling and all three hands were opened:

Showdown
Hauge: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}
Yen: {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}
Hamby: {A-Spades}{J-Spades}

The board ran {10-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} and Hamby was eliminated. Yen won the main pot to chip up to 36,000 chips and Hauge took the side pot and now sits with 51,000 chips.

Benefield's Jacks Give Him the Double

Timothy Begley raised from middle position before David Benefield made it an additional 5,700 to go. Begley then made it 16,700 and Benefield moved all in for around 99,000 and his tournament life. Begley made the call and the cards were on their backs.

Begley: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}
Benefield: {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}

The board rolled out {j-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{10-Diamonds} giving Benefield the double up to 200,000, while Begley now sits with 40,000.

Robl Slips

There was 10,000 in the pot and the board read {5-Clubs}{A-Spades}{A-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{6-Clubs} when Andrew Robl was faced with an all in bet of 22,000 from Joseph Bartholdi.

Robl called, but mucked when Bartholdi opened {A-Clubs}{2-Spades} for trip aces. Robl is down to 79,000 chips and Bartholdi is now up to 57,000 chips.
