Still On the Bubble

We are almost ten hands in to hand-for-hand play and we are still waiting for the bubble to burst.

The clock has been paused with the board reading "00:00:01" left in Level 11.

The Bubble Hath Burst

There were three eliminations during the last hand and the hands are coming shortly.

The minimum payout from here is $4,782 but everyone is surely eyeing the $630,031 first place prize.

Three Players, Two Prizes

Obrestad, 1/3 of our bubble trio.
Obrestad, 1/3 of our bubble trio.

Annette Obrestad, Tony Licastro and a player to be named later have joined powers to be a tri-bubble person.

Since they were eliminated during the same hand, the three will split the the 126th and 125th place prizes. By our math that's $3,188 per person.

One of the three eliminations happened at the feature table and when we heard a commotion we rushed to catch it. Matt Graham was the executioner and he was kind enough to give us the scoop.

According to Graham, he opened to 3,100 from under the gun and Tony Licastro called out of the big blind. The flop fell {K-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} and Licastro checked to Graham who continued for 5,000. Licastro check-raised to 15,000 and Graham went into the tank.

"Let's move on to the next hand," he told Graham.

"Raise," Graham announced. But before he could say a number or put chips in the pot he was cut off by Licastro who announced all in.

Graham opted to make the minimum raise since Licastro's bet was binding. After thinking for a moment Graham opted to call.

Showdown
Graham: {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}
Licastro: {10-Clubs}{6-Spades} (oopsy)

The {Q-Diamonds} on the river ended the hand, and after the {Q-Spades} rivered Licastro's elimination was official. Graham is now up to 150,000 chips.

The other two eliminations occurred in the main playing area.

Obrestad made it 2,400 to go on Table 358 and Justin "Boosted J" Smith bumped it up to 8,800. Obrestad moved all in and was at risk after being called by Smith.

Showdown
Obrestad: {k-Spades}{q-Spades}
Smith: {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}

The board came down {8-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{5-Spades} and Smith increased his stack to 133,000 while Obrestad hit the rail.

Once we find out who the third player was, we will surely inform you

Double for Billirakis

Steve Billirakis
Steve Billirakis

Steve Billirakis made it 3,700 to go before Joe Baldwin bumped it up to 9,600. Billirakis moved all in and Baldwin made the call.

Billirakis: {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Baldwin: {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

The board rolled out {k-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}.

Billirakis doubled to just over 50,000 and Baldwin is down to 105,000.

Frederiksen Exits

Taylor Caby made it 3,100 and it was folded around to Kim Frederiksen in the small blind who moved all in for 17,600. Caby made the call and the cards were on their backs.

Caby: {7-Hearts}{7-Spades}
Frederiksen: {a-Spades}{4-Spades}

The board rolled out {2-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{q-Spades}{k-Hearts}{8-Spades} and Frederiksen was sent to the rail.

Caby's stack increased to 53,000.

Negreanu's Flush

Yessssssss!!!!!!!!
Yessssssss!!!!!!!!

"I JUST MADE A FLUSH!" Daniel Negreanu just yelled loud enough for everyone across the room to hear. "GO WRITE THAT DOWN!"

Negreanu's elation can be captured perfectly with this quote from Twitter:

"I just made. A. Flush. Yeeeeeeeesssss!"

Doppel von Langmann

Florian Langmann and Bruno Launais were heads up with about 60,000 in the middle and the board reading {3-Spades}{3-Clubs}{q-Spades}{2-Clubs}{7-Clubs}.

Launais bet 26,800 and Langmann moved all in for 95,000. Launais called, but mucked when Langmann opened {K-Clubs}{10-Clubs}.

With the double up Langman is all the way up to 260,000 chips.
