Scott Gets Caught Out

Nick Gandhi raised to 5,500 in early position, and the action moved over to Robert "E-Dolo" Scott - who reraised to a massive 75,000. Back to Gandhi, who went all in for around 160,000. Scott made the call.

Gandhi: a respectable {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Scott: that non-traditional reraise/calling hand {q-Spades}{9-Clubs}

Board: {3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{k-Hearts}

No nastiness from the board, and Gandhi doubled to 335,000. The brave Scott took a hit and is at 400,000.

Dead Silent

There's an eerie silence in this particular corner of the Amazon Room today, players either too busy wiping the sleep from their eyes, or suddenly acknowledging the fact that we're now deep into the 'business end' of the tournament.

Whilst Drew Crawford spent most of the first couple of orbits constructing his gargantuan stack, Ashira Lavine strode in late with a slight puff (I sensed a canter through the Rio) and asked, "What did I miss?" Well, the answer is not much, as it's been a very cagey start with just a few blinds nicked. On one hand, Deepak Bhatti opened the button to 27,000, only for Horst Eilers to make it 60,000 from the small blind, and Bhatti to subsequently pass, but apart from that, it's been pretty quiet on the feature table thus far.

Jon Goes Walkies in 41st Place ($12,591)

It was never looking like it would be a particularly good day for Jon Walker - he returned today with just 29,000 chips, or a little over two big blinds.

So it was that Richard Rice raised in the cutoff, and Walker got his last in. On their backs.

Rice: {6-Spades}{6-Hearts}
Walker: a rather desperate {j-Clubs}{3-Clubs}

Board: {4-Hearts}{2-Spades}{2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}

Rice bumped his stack up a little to 295,000, but it's the end of the tournament road for Walker.

Day 3 Started

Day 3, Here We Come

Good afternoon and welcome back to the Amazon Room where 41 players are about to reconvene for purposes of battling it out for spots at the prestigious final table.

After spending most of yesterday in the upper echelons of the chip counts, Drew Crawford heads into the day as chip leader on 800,000. However, there's not much in it between Crawford and his two nearest rivals, William Davis (775,000) and Dash Dudley (745,000) so this looks to be a pretty exciting day.

Play is due to start at 3pm, and we will playing until our field is only nine.
