Jacks Hold for Joe

Joe Sebok
Joe Sebok

A middle position player opened with a raise to 500, and Joe Sebok, sitting to his left, leaned over to survey the raiser's stack. Sebok called, and it folded around to the big blind who called as well.

The flop came {6-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{10-Clubs}, and was followed by two quick checks to Sebok. Sebok put out a big bet of 7,000 -- more than what either of his opponents held. The player in the big blind tanked for a minute or so before giving it up, but the original raiser immediately called.

Sebok turned over {J-Spades}{J-Diamonds} for the overpair, while his opponent showed {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts} for the nut flush draw. The turn was the {8-Diamonds} and the river the {4-Spades}, Sebok's jacks held, and another player has hit the rail.

Sebok is now up around 18,000.
