KO for McEachern

Lon McEachern just got on the better side of an all in situation when he bet 2,000 into a flop of {3-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{7-Clubs}. His opponent went all in for what amounted to a small raise and McEachern made the call.

McEachern: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}
Opponent: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

Our World Series of Poker television host managed to catch the {k-Hearts} on the turn, which left his opponent drawing dead. The {9-Clubs} was dealt as a formality and McEachern is now up to 16,500.

Challis Brennan Doubles With a Rivered Flush

Challis Brennan had moved all in pre-flop after three-betting an opponent at her table. Her opponent called and things looked bleak for Brennan.

Brennan: {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}
Opponent: {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}

The flop of {9-Spades}{k-Hearts}{2-Spades} wasn't any help to Brennan. When the {q-Spades} came on the turn, her opponent picked up a set and Brennan was drawing to either a straight or a flush. She hit her backdoor flush when the {a-Spades} came on the river and has found herself with 15,000 chips.

Toy Man Cometh

David Cohen
David Cohen

David Cohen recently went to a flop with an opponent while another player at the table was all in and awaiting his fate.

The flop was {k-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{9-Hearts} and both players checked. Cohen bet 300 on the the {j-Hearts} turn and his opponent called. When the {4-Clubs} came on the river it was checked through once more.

When all was said and done Cohen tabled {7-Spades}{10-Clubs} and his opponents mucked, one of whom is done for the night.

Cohen is now at 20,000 chips.

Williams Loses a Few

Lorie Williams was close to getting her stack near the top of the leader board when she raised pre-flop and then called an opponent's all-in re-raise for about 4,000.

Williams: {q-Clubs}{q-Spades}
Opponent: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}

Williams was happy to see where she stood, but picked up a sweat when the flop came {2-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{4-Clubs}. The {5-Clubs} on the turn was no problem, but the {10-Hearts} on the river gave her opponent a flush and a double up.

Williams is now at 27,000

Eddy Scharf Emerges

Eddy Scharf, who recently placed 4th in Event #26 $2,500 No Limit Hold'em Six Handed (for a cool $163,649) has emerged as what looks to be our chipleader. He's currently sitting with about 70,000 chips.

Johnston Surges

Berry Johnston had raised to 2,000 and was faced with an all-in re-raise to 4,875. He made the call and they were off to the flop.

Johnston: {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}
Opponent: {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

Johnston got all the help he needed to pull ahead when the flop came {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{5-Clubs}. The {8-Diamonds} on the turn and {k-Spades} on the river kept him ahead and he's now up to 57,000.
