Shirley Williams, mother of David Williams, was up and down in the chip counts today but finally said goodnight when she got her short stack in with against an opponent's . Her fortunes were looking up but her opponent spiked a on the flop to send Williams home.
That's all we've got to play for the night.
David Cohen had raised to 1,600 from the button and both blinds decided to come along for the ride.
On a flop of action was checked to Cohen who bet 2,300 into the pot. The small blind called, but the big blind folded. Both remaining players checked the on the turn.

We started out today with a record-setting field of 3,142 players who filled the Pavilion and parts of the Amazon Room. Numbers were so large that other tournaments were made to adjust where they were starting so as to accommodate the huge player-base of this event.
Despite the large number of players we started out with, it wasn't long before we said farewell to a large percentage of our field. Only 450 players will be showing up for Day 2. Among the notables who fell in day one are Alan Boston, Dennis Phillips, Tom McEvoy, David Sklansky, Barry Shulman and Dan Shak.
Tomorrow we plan on returning and bringing you all the action as we burst the money bubble and play our way towards a final table. We'll have our eyes on Tom Schneider (91,000), Berry Johnston (57,000), Lon McEachern (13,000), Thor Hansen (19,000), TJ Cloutier (8,500), Sam Simon (20,000) and the rest of the field as they keep on keeping on.
