Another star-studded event.
Another star-studded event.
Maria Ho was all in on an board with . She'd need to hit her flush in order to chop the pot with her opponent, who'd flopped a wheel with . But the on the turn and on the river where not the color she was looking for, sending her to the rail just before the end of the night.
They've stopped the clock for the night and will play four more hands to end Day 1.
820 players took to the field today for Event #4 - $1,500 Omaha Hi/Lo. They chopped, they scooped, they seemed to enjoy themselves, for the most part. By the end of the night, the board read 297 players left, but that number will surely decline overnight.
Such a large field drew out a large number of notable players. Tom Dwan arrived late and departed early, one of the early waves of players to bust. Soon to follow were the likes of Justin Bonomo, Matt Savage, George Danzer and Daniel Negreanu.
There were some well-known players who accumulated stacks, however. Amnon Filippi looked to bag "low 30s" in chips, and David Bach amassed 39,000. They were all topped by the mystery man known right now only as "Oleg". Our last approximation of his stack was in the range of 70,000.
Tonight eerythong will go home and hopefully get some sleep. They'll return at 3pm tomorrow to play another ten levels of this event. We'll be there too.
Until then, you can find us at the bar.
