Suharto Rolls Out Double

After Ted Forrest brought in with the {K-Spades}, Archie Karas completed to 1,000 with Darus Suharto making the call.

Suharto took the lead on fourth before finding himself all in for his last 1,200 with Karas making the call as both players boards ran out as follows.

Suharto: {5-}{4-} / {A-}{8-}{3-}{2-} / (X)
Karas: {A-}{8-} / {3-}{J-}{10-}{7-} / (X)

With Suharto improving to a wheel both players didn't bother to sweat seventh street as the pot of 8,000 was pushed to Suharto while Karas slipped to 15,000 in chips.

Negreanu Is Right

Cliff Ziff: {k-}{5-}{A-} / {4-}{k-}{3-}{7-}
Daniel Negreanu: {a-}{2-}{6-} / {4-}{4-}{3-}{10-}

"I think I'm going to win this one," announced Daniel Negreanu on fourth street. And he would turn out to be right.

Vladimir Schemelev was involved in the hand as well, but folded on fifth street when Ziff bet and Negreanu raised. Ziff called though, and they went heads up to sixth street. Ziff bet out again and this time Negreanu flat-called.

Ziff bet in the dark on seventh street and Negreanu called, turning over a 6-4-3-2-A low. Ziff couldn't beat it, and Negreanu took the pot to bump his stack up to 25,000.

"Told you I was going to win," he said.

Hachem Creeping Up

Joe Hachem got himself involved in a rather unusual hand - his up cards were {7-}{7-}{4-}{4-} by the end of the hand, and his opponent Steve Weiss was holding an equally esoteric {k-}{j-}{6-}{6-}. Hachem bet out and Weiss called, but mucked when Hachem turned over {6-}{8-}{2-}.

Hachem moved on up to 59,000.

Ziff Over The Cliff

Catching the action on fifth street we found Clifford Ziff firing out 2,000 only to get raised by Daniel Negreanu to 4,000. Ziff committed his remaining few thousand with Negreanu making the call.

Ziff: {A-}{3-} / {3-}{6-}{J-}
Negreanu: {3-}{2-} / {6-}{7-}{J-}

Ziff improved by catch a {5-} as Negreanu caught a {Q-}.

On seventh Negreanu squeezed out a four-across to reveal a {10-}, but unfortunately for Ziff he could only find a {K-} to find himself on the rail as Negreanu climbs to 33,000 in chips.

Buss Fare Home

Buss is busto
Buss is busto

Whether or not he has a parade or a wedding or something to attend, we do not know. But either way, Mr. Jerry Buss, owner of the LA Lakers, will not get to spend the rest of his day playing this tournament, as he is now busted.

Minieri Walloped

Dario Minieri: (XXX) / {5-}{10-}{a-}{7-}
Chris Wallace: {2-}{3-}{q-} / {4-}{4-}{7-}{6-}

Dario Minieri has taken a serious hit courtesy of Chris Wallace.

Minieri completed and called a raise from Wallace on third street before betting out on streets four to six. Wallace flat-called all the way. On seventh street Minieri checked and just called a bet from Wallace, beofre mucking to Wallace's 7-6-4-3-2 low.

Walalce moved on up to 70.000. Minieri dropped to 11,000.

Glantzular Fever

Jennifer Harman: {2-}{3-}{q-} / {5-}{4-}{a-}{8-}
Matt Glantz: (mucked) / {8-}{3-}{k-}{7-}

We caught up with Jennifer Harman betting out on fifth street. Matt Glantz called.

She bet out again on sixth and indeed on seventh street; both times Glantz made the call, but mucked when Harman turned over the wheel.

"Do you ever play with a six or seven in the hole?" tablemate Huck Seed asked her. She declined to answer.

After that, Harman was up to 49,000. Glantz meanwhile was in some serious trouble, on just 2,000.
