Montgomery Won't be Repeating

Scott Montgomery
Scott Montgomery

Scott Montgomery had hoped to win back-to-back $1,000 events. He even dressed up in a blazer for the occasion. However his goal was cut short by our new chip leader, Jason Riesenberg.

Riesenberg had raised to 23,000 preflop and called Montgomery's shove for about 135,000.

Montgomery: {k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}
Riesenberg: {k-Clubs}{q-Hearts}

The flop came {5-Spades}{5-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and kept Riesenberga out in the front. Montgomery may have been hoping for a runner-runner chop, which was a possibility with the {a-Hearts} on the turn.

The {9-Diamonds} on the river sealed the deal, though, and Montgomery went to the cage to collect his winnings while Riesenberg arranged his stack of 920,000 chips.
