Ryan Eliminates Opponent

Rich Ryan, who is a top notch poker blogger for PokerNews, raised to 325 from the cutoff. The small blind folded and the big blind threw out a raise to 1,150. Ryan, who we understand is of no relation to legendary baseball pitcher Nolan Ryan, took his time before making the call.

The flop came down {10-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{J-Hearts} and the big blind led out for 2,150, leaving himself 2,025 behind. Ryan grabbed a big stack of chips and deposited them in the pot for a raise. The big blind did not look happy and tanked for awhile before making the call. Ryan proudly turned over {10-Spades}{10-Hearts} for a set while the big blind sheepishly revealed {A-Clubs}{6-Clubs}.

The turn was the {J-Clubs} giving Ryan a full house and the win. After the {K-Hearts} was put out on the river, Ryan shook hands with his defeated foe and stacked his newly won chips with the grace and elegance of a champion. He is now sitting with around 15,000.

Neilson Chips Up

Daniel Neilson opened to 400 from the hi-jack and was called by an opponent on from the cutoff.

Neilson fired out 575 on the {2-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} flop with his opponent making the call to see the {10-Hearts} peel on the turn.

Neilson checked and his opponent fired out 850 with Neilson making the call before both players checked the {J-Spades} on the river.

Neilson tabled his {8-Spades}{5-Spades}, and once his opponent open-mucked his {A-Clubs}{4-Clubs}, Neilson climbed to 17,500 in chips.

Hansen Halted

Thor Hansen opened to 350 from middle position and was called by an opponent in the small blind before the big blind bumped it to 1,650.

Hansen moved all in for his last 2,650 and the small blind took nearly four minutes to fold his {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} before the big blind made the call.

Hansen: {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Opponent: {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}

The board ran out {9-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{A-Clubs} to see Hansen eliminated courtesy of an unkind river.

Makhija Eliminated

After the button had raised to 425, Amit Makhija moved all in for a total of 1,600. The button made the call with {Q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} but was way behind Makhija's {A-Spades}{10-Hearts}.

Makhija had to do a double take when the flop came {7-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}, giving him a pair of aces but the button a flush draw. The {6-Diamonds} on the turn gave the button the said flush draw and left Makhija drawing dead. After the {9-Clubs} was put out on the river, Makhija made his exit from the tournament.

Phan Slips

On a board reading {8-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} John Phan moved all in to effectively put his opponent all in for his last 2,000.

His opponent made the call tabling {5-Spades}{5-Diamonds} to be ahead of Phan's {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}.

The river blanked with the {Q-Hearts} to see Phan's opponent double up as he slipped to 4,500 in chips.

Facing a raise from the cutoff, Jeff Papola moved all in for his last 1,100. His opponent made the call and we were off to a showdown.

Papola: {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}
Opponent: {A-Clubs}{8-Hearts}

The board ran out {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{7-Spades}{2-Diamonds} to see Papola double through to 2,500 in chips.

Agarwal: {A-Diamonds}{9-Spades}

Oh No, Bonomo!

The button and both blinds limped to see a flop of {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{4-Spades}. The blinds checked to Justin Bonomo on the button, who promptly bet 1,025. The small blind got out of the way while the big blind went into the tank.

After thinking it through, the big blind moved all in for around 2,500. Bonomo called with the {4-Clubs}{6-Clubs} and was up against the {J-Clubs}{10-Clubs} of the big blind. The turn was the {10-Diamonds}, leaving Bonomo in bad shape. The {5-Diamonds} on the river ensured the big blind's double up and left Bonomo with just 1,300.
