Three Snowmen for Steven

Steven Rubinfeld opened to 11,000 only to have Bastian Fischer three-bet to 27,000.

Rubinfeld moved all in for his last 75,600 and Fischer made the call.

Rubinfeld: {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}
Fischer: {A-Spades}{K-Spades}

The {Q-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} flop kept Rubinfeld in the lead, but the {A-Diamonds} on the turn saw him needing any diamond or eight to stay alive.

Fortunately for Rubinfeld, the {8-Clubs} landed on the river to keep him alive and up to 165,000 in chips.

Taste of His Own Medesan

Despite a fortunate double through several hands earlier, Alain Medesan has been sent to the cashier after moving all in with {K-}{Q-} in the big blind and being looked up by initial raiser Joel Bidnick's {J-}{J-} under the gun. Obviously, the board bricked out to award Bidnick the pot and a now 300,000 plus stack.

Persson Puts Out

Sean Prendiville opened to 8,500 from the hi-jack and found a call in the cutoff before Simon Persson moved all in for 33,700 from the big blind.

Prendiville made the call as the player caught in the middle passed.

Prendiville: {K-Clubs}{Q-Spades}
Persson: {5-Spades}{5-Hearts}

The board ran out {K-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} to see Persson eliminated as Prendiville climbs to 270,000 in chips.

Set-Over-Set for Myung

Catching the action with the board reading {4-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}, John Myung found himself all in against an opponent for his last 64,500 into a pot of roughly 20,000.

Myung: {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}
Opponent: {4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}

Myung would fade the one-outer on the river when it landed the {J-Hearts}, as he raked in the pot to move to 157,000 in chips.

Just An Eight for Cornell

Facing a raise to 9,000 from under the gun, Tyler Cornell three-bet to 23,500 from two seats over.

His opponent made the call before both players checked the {J-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{9-Diamonds} flop.

The turn landed the {6-Diamonds} and after a check, Cornell fired out 17,000 and his opponent made the call before jamming for his last 96,200 when the river landed the {2-Clubs}.

Cornell went deep into the tank for over three minutes before making the call.

Cornell's opponent tabled his {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades} for a complete air-ball, and it would be Cornell's {Q-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for middle pair that would eliminate his opponent while seeing his stack rise to over 380,000 in chips.

Medesan on the Ball

Alain Medesan is thanking his lucky stars after doubling through with {A-Hearts}{J-Spades} versus {A-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}. He came over the top of a button raise from the big blind for a total of 31,300, before spiking a seven from heaven on the river of a {5-Hearts}{4-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{7-Spades}. As a result of his good fortune, he now has 80,000.

Nana-Nana-Nana-Nana Waxman!

Matthew Waxman
Matthew Waxman

I love the name Matthew Waxman. He sounds like a Marvel Superhero. I can just picture him now in mask and cape, ridding the world of evil wax and driving around in his waxmobile. Anyhow, I digress. Waxman was just involved in a big pot which resulted in the demise of Woo Shin (another great name).

After raising to 7,200 from the hijack, Shin made the call on the button leading to an {8-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{6-Spades} flop. Waxman led for 12,000 and Shin called. On the {K-Hearts} turn, Waxman opted to check, before calling a bet of 32,000. The river then came the {A-Diamonds}, which triggered an all-in from Waxman.

Without hesitation, Shin made the call, but quickly mucked upon being shown {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs} for the rivered set. "Was I good on the turn?" probed Waxman. "You can say, you're out." A disgruntled Shin simply shrugged his shoulders and exited stage left.

Waxman may actually be a super hero after all as he's now on a gargantuan 385,000 and second in chips only to Anthony Spinella.

Zac Attack

Tyler Cornell and Zac Holyoke appear to have built up a rivalry of Rocky and Apollo Creed proportions, and when the action folded around to them in the blinds, they clashed once again.

I only caught the very end of the hand, but with around 40,000 in the middle and a {K-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} board waiting patiently on the felt, Holyoke bet 17,500 from the big blind. Cornell paused, before reluctantly splashed three orange chips and some shrapnel onto the felt before him. Holyoke showed {Q-Spades}{J-Diamonds}, which was more than enough to take the pot.

Holyoke - 230,000
Cornell - 245,000
