Smith Saved by the Board

Elliot Smith narrowly avoided elimination when he was tangling with an opponent on a board of {8-Spades}{a-Spades}{6-Hearts}. The two got all their chips into the middle and Smith saw he was in trouble when his {a-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} was outkicked by his opponent's {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts}. Things improved for Smith when the {6-Diamonds} came on the turn, followed by {j-} on the river, leaving the players to split the pot.

Nice Hand Mr. Bansi

Praz Bansi
Praz Bansi

With the board reading {k-Hearts}{a-Spades}{5-Clubs}{2-Spades} a player seated in middle position bet out 18,000 with 30,000 already in the pot. Praz Bansi considered his options and raised it to 50,000.

The opponent tanked for several minutes and eventually folded.

Bansi tabled {q-}{10-} and has about 300,000 chips.

Only 93 Remain

The initial bustout frenzy that followed the breaking of the money bubble has long since settled and players are now able to make a bit more post-flop play with deeper stacks. We're down to 11 tables and 93 players as we near the end of the day's fourth level.

Moorman Nabs 50k

Chris Moorman made good use of the last few minutes of level 14. We wandered into the hand when Moorman and an opponent were looking at a board reading {3-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{6-Clubs}. Moorman check-called his opponent's bet of 8,800. When the {j-Diamonds} came on the river, it was checked by both players. Moorman turned over {4-Clubs} and his opponent followed suit by flipping over {4-Spades}. Moorman's kicker of {k-} was enough to take the pot, which was about 50,000 in chips.
