Pelton Doubles Up

Joe Pelton, the winner of the 2006 WPT Legends of Poker just doubled up through an unknown opponent.

PokerNews caught up with the action on the turn with a board reading {k-Spades}{j-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{q-Clubs}. When action was checked to Pelton, he bet 1,350. His oppoent then raised to 3,050 and Pelton three-bet, putting himself all in. His opponent called and the cards were turned face-up.

Pelton: {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Opponent: {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}

Perhaps not fully understanding the position he was in, Pelton's opponent asked the dealer for "a king or a jack." Either way, the {a-Hearts} on the river was enough for Pelton to double up through the hand.
