Fazzone Hanging on for Pay Jump

Jason Fazzone has been nursing a very small stack worth less than 30,000 chips. Fazzone has good reason to though, because after the next elimination the payout jumps from $12,426 to $15,222.

That is almost twice the buy-in.

Fazzone put himself at risk though recently, open shoving for 23,000, less than two big blinds, when the action folded to him in middle position. A player in the small blind called and so too did Joshua Gibson from the big blind.

The two checked the hand all the way down, and the board looked like this: {10-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{A-Hearts}{6-Hearts}.

"King-high?" Gibson said quizzically.

He showed {K-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} but Fazzone tabled {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades} for a wired pair of nines. The small blind folded claiming to have wired eights, and the 77,000 chip pot was pushed towards Fazzone.

Yay for six big blinds!
