Kassela Climbing

Frank Kassela
Frank Kassela

Shawn Buchanan opened for 75,000 from middle position and got two callers-- Frank Kassela on the button and Dan Kelly in the big blind.

Kelly checked the {7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} flop over to Buchanan, who bet 105,000. Kassela raised to 400,000 and it was enough to get folds from both players.

Buchanan slipped to 1.55 million while Kassela is up to 2.54 million.

Bryn Kenney Eliminated in 8th Place ($141,168)

Bryn Kenney - 8th Place
Bryn Kenney - 8th Place

Bryn Kenney opened to 80,000 from under the gun and Dan "djk123" Kelly defended his big blind.

The dealer flopped {9-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and Kelly checked to Kenney who continued for 90,000.

"Ninety?" Kelly asked.

The dealer nodded, and Kelly cut out chips raising to 240,000. Kenney moved all in and Kelly instantly called.

Kelly: {j-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}
Kenney: {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

"Club!" Kenney's contingent shouted from the rail.

The turn was black, but the {6-Spades} on the turn was no help to Kenney. The {k-Diamonds} on the river was a big, red brick and Kenney was eliminated.

We are now playing musical chairs with the remaining seven players to form our unofficial final table. When we receive the proper seating arrangement and their chip counts we will surely pass them along.

Somerville's All-In Chases Out the Competition

Jason Somerville opened for 75,000 from the button and both Sam Trickett and Shawn Buchanan called from the blinds.

The flop was {6-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{2-Clubs} and the action was checked to Somerville. He bet 130,000, Trickett raised to 275,000, Buchanan folded and Somerville moved all-in for an additional 600,000. Trickett folded and Somerville raked in the pot, increasing his stack to 1.38 million. Trickett is down to 1.77 million.

Jack on the River for Kenney

Bryn Kenney limped in from the small blind and Mikael Thuritz checked his option.

Both players checked the {8-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{3-Spades} flop. The turn came the {10-Clubs} and Kenney checked to Thuritz, who bet 60,000. Kenney called. The river was the {J-Spades}, and Kenney check-called another 115,000.

Kenney showed {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts} and took it down. He's up to 1.2 million while Thuritz fell to 1.05 million.
