Mikael Thuritz Doubles Through Daniel Negrenau

Daniel Negreanu opened for 54,000 and Mikael Thuritz three-bet to 140,000 from the button. Negreanu made the call and they saw a {6-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop. Negreanu checked, Thuritz bet 125,000, Negreanu shoved and Thuritz called all-in for about 550,000.

Thuritz {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades}
Negreanu {Q-Spades}{J-Spades}

The turn was the {8-Hearts}, the river was the {2-Clubs} and Thuritz doubled to 1.3 million. Negreanu was left with 425,000.

Martins Adeniya Eliminated in 13th Place ($58,699)

Martins Adeniya - 13th Place
Martins Adeniya - 13th Place

Martins Adeniya has been done in by his own countryman; Sam Trckett.

Adeniya opened to 60,000 with the button and Trickett defended his big blind. The flop fell {4-Spades}{5-Spades}{10-Diamonds} and Trickett checked to Adeniya who continued for 75,000. Tricket check-raised to 400,000 effectively putting Adeniya all in, and Adeniya indeed committed himself raising to just 25,000 more. Trickett of course called.

Adeniya: {10-Spades}{8-Diamonds}
Trickett: {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}

Trickett was already well ahead, and the {q-Clubs} on the turn was all she wrote. The {k-Diamonds} on the river was simply protocol and Adeniya shook some hands before exiting the tournament area.

With just two tables we are now re-drawing and will have the table positions and chip counts shortly!

Abe Mosseri Eliminated in 12th Place ($77,569)

Abe Mosseri - 12th Place
Abe Mosseri - 12th Place

The field is thinning at a rapid pace here on Day 3, and we've just lost another player; Abe Mosseri.

Mosseri opened for a raise from under the gun and Sam Trickett re-raised to 140,000 from the hijack seat. Mosseri called.

The dealer fanned {q-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{8-Spades} and Mosseri checked to Trickett who fired 150,000. Mosseri check-raised to 400,000, Trickett moved all and Mosseri called.

Mosseri: {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
Trickett: {8-Clubs}{6-Spades}

Mosseri needed some help, and the {3-Clubs} on the turn left Mosseri with just three outs to an ace. An ace did not come on the river, rather it was the {4-Hearts} eliminating him from Event #52.

With the hold, Trickett is now our massive chip leader sporting a 3,000,000-chip stack.

Eugene Katchalov
Eugene Katchalov

Eugene Katchalov opened for 50,000 from the button, Sam Trickett slid out a tall stack of green 25,000-denomination chips, setting his opponent all-in, and Katchalov made the call for his last 579,000.

Katchalov {5-Spades}{5-Clubs}
Trickett {A-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}

Katchalov's pocket fives held up on the {10-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{6-Spades} board and he doubled to 1,190,000. Trickett is down to 2,480,000.

Age Ain't Nothin' But a Number

With 11 players remaining, 46 year-old Frank Kassela is the oldest player remaining in the tournament, followed by 35 year-old Daniel Negreanu. Brian Hodhod, 34, is the only other non-twentysomething remaining in the field.

Dan Kelly wins 2.4 Million Pot from Bryn Kenney

The monsterpotten of the tournament so far saw Dan Kelly flop the nuts and get paid off big time by Bryn Kenney, who lost more than half his stack on the hand.

Kelly opened for 60,000 from the cutoff and Kenney made it 180,000 from the small blind. Kelly called and they saw a {A-Clubs}{A-Spades}{4-Diamonds} flop. Kenney checked, Kelly, bet 164,000 and Kenney raised to 350,000 Kelly called and they went to the turn, which fell the {6-Spades}. Kenney checked and Kelly checked behind. The river was the {K-Diamonds} and Kenney checked to Kelly. He moved all-in for 716,000 and after a long tank, Kenney made the call.

Kelly turned over {A-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} for the flopped boat and took down the 2.4 million pot. Onetime chip leader Kenney is down to 885,000, while onetime short stack Kelly is now on top of the leaderboard.
