Haxton Trending Up

Isaac Haxton opened to 72,000 with the button and Eugene Katchalov defended his big blind.

The flop fell {6-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{10-Spades} and Katchalov check-called 120,000 from Haxton.

The turn brought the {8-Diamonds} and Katchalov checked again. Haxton fired 275,000 and Katchalov opted to fold this time.

Katchalov slipped to 1,060,000 chips while Haxton trended up to 1,480,000.

Brian Hodhod Eliminated in 10th Place ($104,651)

Brian Hodhod opened for 60,000 from the cutoff, Dan Kelly three-bet to 165,000 from the big blind and Hodhod called.

The flop was {8-Spades}{6-Clubs}{5-Hearts}. Kelly led out for 238,000 and Hodhod called. The turn was the {K-Hearts} and Kelly fired again, making it 440,000 to go. Again, Hodhod flat-called. The river was the {9-Hearts} and Kelly moved all-in, having Hodhod significantly covered. He made the call for his last 600,000.

Kelly had put in that pre-flop three-bet with {7-Clubs}{4-Hearts} and flopped a straight! The shortest stack with 18 players remaining, Kelly is now the chip leader with 3.5 million.

"Fuck my life," muttered Hodhod as he left the table.

Katchalov Takes a Bite Out of Buchanan

Shawn Buchanan opened for 70,000 from the cutoff and Eugene Katchalov called on the button.

The flop was {J-Spades}{7-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}. Buchanan led out for 72,000 and Katchalov called. When the {8-Spades} hit the turn, Buchanan checked to Katchalov. He bet 200,000 and Buchanan called. The river was the {10-Hearts} and Buchanan checked again. Katchalov bet 300,000 and Buchanan folded.

Katchalov is up to 1.6 million.

Isaac Haxton Eliminated in 9th Place ($104,651)

Isaac Haxton - 9th Place

Action folded to Sam Trickett in the small blind who moved all in for effectively 400,000 chips. Haxton called all in, and the hands were opened:

Trickett: {a-Hearts}{4-Hearts}
Haxton: {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

There was paint on the flop, but Haxton did not make a pair when the dealer fanned {j-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}. The {9-Hearts} on the turn gave Haxton a gut-shot draw, but the {2-Clubs} bricked on the river eliminating him in 9th place.

With the knockout, Trickett is now up to 2,750,000 chips.

Action Resumes

We currently have two tables of four; when we lose one more players, they will combine to a single table. Although there was some talk of playing all the way down to a winner tonight, the decision was made to stop when we reach our six-handed final table.

Chips for Kassela

Frank Kassela opened to 80,000 from middle position and Dan "djk123" Kelly called him with the button.

The flop fell {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}{9-Clubs} and Kassela led for 145,000. Kelly called.

The turn brought the {8-Hearts} and Kassela slowed down, checking to Kelly who bet 250,000. Kassela check-raised to 750,000, and Kelly released.

Kelly is still very healthy with 3,750,000 chips and Kassela chipped up to 2,150,000.
