Day 1 About to Begin

Day 1 of Event #53: $1,500 Limit Hold'em Shootout is set to begin in a little over an hour. The size of the field, and who will enter, is anyone's guess given that the $25,000 Six Handed event is occurring simultaneously. The good news though, that event is currently being held in the Orange Section of the Amazon Room, which is right next door to the Blue Section where this tournament will take place. This means we will probably see players double dipping in both tournaments.

Last year, this event attracted 571 players and was won by none other than Greg Mueller, who took home $194,854 for his first-place finish. We should know early on how many players enter this year's event, and the subsequent prizepool that is created, since there is no late registration for this tournament.

Already a number of notable poker players have announced their intentions to play via various social networking outlets. Tony Dunst, Andy Bloch and Jason Potter are just a sampling of those who're planning to play. Who will take their shot to win a gold bracelet in the last limit event of the 2010 World Series of Poker? Join us at 5 PM local time as PokerNews brings you all the hand updates, chip counts and action from the $1,500 Limit Shootout!
