The Plan of Attack

As everyone takes their seats today to goal is to play this one right out until the death and we crown a WSOP champion. Due to the deep stacks, number and quality of players still left, there is a very strong possibility of this not finishing until very late (or early depending on your point of view). Seeing sunlight and making breakfast plans are definitely on the cards, which is a rarity for us.

However there is a provision that the tournament directors may decide to pause the tournament at the final table and resume play tomorrow if it's in the best interests for the welfare of the players, dealers and tournament staff.

Of course if the players would prefer to play it out, then that will happen, but since there are no other new events starting up tomorrow then pausing the tournament won't affect their chances in other tournaments. So this strengthens the case to pause it at the final table.

The only tournament that it affects is the Tournament of Champions final table which is set to resume at 9:00 a.m. tomorrow. This affects the one and only Phil Hellmuth who we're certain wouldn't mind getting some sleep before playing for $500,000 tomorrow. In fact, if Hellmuth is on the final table of this event then it's highly likely he'll push to postpone the final table until tomorrow night so that he can play in both.

Time will tell! We'll keep you posted on any developments.
