Capra Gets Lucky, Does Not Get Unlucky

It folded around to Peter Walsworth in the small blind, who announced all in to cover big blind Sam Capra. Capra snap-called all in for his tournament life.

Walsworth: in excellent shape with {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}
Capra: in some trouble with {a-Spades}{5-Clubs}

"Come on! One time!" shouted Capra.

Board: {q-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{5-Spades}{10-Hearts}

"YES!" cried Capra as he doubled to 200,000; the hapless Walsworth was left with 145,000. "Problem is, I might have used up my one time now."

Capra went to chat to his supporters at the rail after that, who offered him some sage tournament advice. "You need two things. You need to get lucky, and you need to not get unlucky." Truer words were never spoken.

It's a Wonderful Life for Capra

Further getting lucky and not getting unlucky for Sam Capra as Adam Sanders got the last of his chips in with pocket kings, only for Capra to wake up with aces. There were no outdraws in evidence on the {a-}{4-}{7-}{10-}{2-} board, and the cold-decked Sanders exited with a gentlemanly, "Nice playing with you guys." as Capra and his railers celebrated.

Capra is up to 670,000.

Kam-Ran Good

With the board reading {3-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}, three players moved all in including Davor Lanini, Sam Capra and Michael Karman. The cards were opened:

Lanini: {j-Hearts}{9-Spades}
Capra: {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}
Kamran: {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}

Lanini was drawing thin and the {k-Spades} on the turn officially eliminated him from the tournament. Kamran could double through with one of the two remaining sevens on the river however and lightning indeed struck in the form of the {7-Spades}.

Lanini collected his things and headed to the door while Kamran's rail exploded. Kamran is now up to 800,000 chips while Capra slipped to just 420,000.

Hitting the Walsworth

Craig Marquis open-shoved from the hijack, and Peter Walsworth called all in from the button, sighing, "I can't fold it twice to you." It was a race.

Marquis: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}
Walsworth: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}

Flop: {5-Spades}{j-Hearts}{10-Clubs} - not a race any more, but Walsworth still had straight outs

Turn: {j-Diamonds} - Marquis made quads, leaving Walsworth drawing dead

River: for the sake of completeness {2-Diamonds}

Walsworth takes home 26th place money. Marquis remains in the running, and is now up to 800,000.
