Dan Sindelar opened to 375, and an unknown player made the smooth call. Chino Rheem and Tony Dunst also called, and it was four-handed to the flop.
The dealer spread out , and all four men checked around to the on the turn. From the big blind, Tony Dunst put out a bet of 1,575, leaving himself just 50 chips behind. Both Dan Sindelar and the unknown player called, and Rheem folded with a chuckle and a quiet, "That's funny."
The filled out the board, and Dunst plunked his remainder into the pot. "Fifty is the bet," he said. "I recommend you fold."
"It'd be great if they both folded," Rheem smirked. Sindelar raised though, and that was enough to fold the monkey in the middle (who later said he missed his flush draw with ).
Dunst tabled for two pair and the missed draws, and he was put out to pasture by Sindelar's .
Chino Rheem was down around 2,000 when he moved all in with . Luke Tavis looked him up with the dominating , and his covering stack meant Rheem was at risk of elimination.
The board full of blanks ( ) did nothing to improve his plight, and the 2008 Main Event finalist has been eliminated.
We're not sure about the action but all the chips went in preflop. With 13,000 chips in the pot Joe Sebok tabled and saw an on the other side of the table.
A player in early position raised to 450, and Eric Froehlich made the call a couple seats down the line. Action came over to Chris Ferguson, and he moved all in for just over 3,000 total. The original raiser promptly called all in for his last ~1,800, and that was enough to fold Froehlich out of the way and put the two men heads up for the pot.
It was pretty anti-climactic. Both players turned over ace-king, and the board blanked off to give them their money back plus a few extra chips.
We caught up with the action on the turn with the board showing . There was about 2,200 in the pot when we walked up, and Lex Veldhuis was seen betting 1,775. His lone announced a check-raise, but he didn't put nearly enough chips into the pot to do so successfully. The dealer made him put in more chips to make the minimum raise to 3,550. Veldhuis asked him how much he was playing before moving all in for 9,975 total. His opponent had nearly as many chips, and he made the call to put himself at risk.
Showdown
Veldhuis:
Opponent:
It was two pair for both men, but Veldhuis had taken a big lead with that jack on the turn. The river came the , changing nothing and sending that sizable pot (the biggest we've seen so far) over to Mr. Veldhuis. He's up to 21,000, and that should instill some fear in his table mates.
JC Tran's back was just spotted walking through the exit doors, and a quick check on his table sees that he has indeed lost all of his chips and been eliminated.
Also making their exits within the last two minutes were the charming Thuy Doan and the exceedingly tall Chris Ferguson.
We don't have many details on this one as we passed by the table just as the dealer was scooping up the board. What we could see was on board, and tabled in front of Liv Boeree. Annette Obrestad was counting out chips, and they were pushed to Boeree, telling us that we just missed some exciting girl-on-girl action.
Boeree has doubled through Obrestad, giving them 7,000 and 1,200 chips respectively.
