Fireworks Set Kwaysser Alight

Under the gun, Valdemar Kwaysser made it 3,300 to play, and Joe Serock three-bet to 7,900 from the button. Kwaysser four-bet, Serock five-bet shoved for about 68,000 total, and Kwaysser called all in for 65,700 total to put a pot of more than 130,000 up for grabs.

Showdown
Kwaysser: {10-Hearts} {8-Hearts}
Serock: {K-Spades} {K-Diamonds}

There were a few surprised looks around the table, including Serock's nervous, wide-eyed gaze. The board ran out clean for him though: {A-Spades} {7-Spades} {3-Hearts} {10-Spades} {J-Clubs}.

That's going to spell the end of Kwaysser in 65th place, and Serock's near-double pushes him all the way up over 140,000 in chips.

Potter Doubles Another One

David Cairns opened with a minimum raise to 3,200, and Jason Potter called from the cutoff seat before Julie Farkas reraised all in for 13,600 total. That folded Cairns, but Potter made the call to put Farkas to the test. She and her hole cards were up to the challenge:

Potter: {Q-Spades} {Q-Hearts}
Farkas: {A-Spades} {A-Diamonds}

It was another unfortunate confrontation for Potter, his second here early in Day 2. He lost the last one, and he'd lose this one too as the dealer ran out a board of {3-Diamonds} {J-Hearts} {6-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} {3-Spades}. A full house is good, and Farkas had the better one, doubling her up close to 30,000.

Bil the Bubble Boy

Well it was fun to watch at least.

After folding all the way around to under the gun, Bil Smith finally stuck his last 900 chips into the pot with {K-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds}. He was called in three places.

The flop came {2-Spades} {Q-Clubs} {4-Spades}, and the three live players checked. On the {3-Hearts} turn, Michael Maher fired out a bet of 2,000, Chris Moore called, and Edward Brogdon folded out of the way.

The last card off was the {A-Hearts}, Maher moved all in, and Moore quickly called. Smith would need something special for his pair of queens to be good.

Both Maher and Moore turned over five-six for the nuts, though, and Smith has officially been eliminated on the bubble. He shook hands with his table and wished them all luck as he headed off to collect his wooden spoon.

"Congratulations, players, you are all now in the money," was the last thing he heard as he exited the room.

Maher Next to Go

Raymond Coburn raised from the hijack seat, and Michael Maher moved all in for about 10,000 from the cutoff seat. On the button, Julie Farkas reraised, successfully isolating herself against the at-risk player and bringing about the showdown:

Maher: {Q-Clubs} {Q-Hearts}
Farkas: {A-Diamonds} {A-Spades}

It was aces again for Farkas, and she held this time too. The board came {6-Clubs} {10-Clubs} {3-Spades} {5-Spades} {J-Hearts}, knocking off Maher and moving Farkas up further to about 44,000.

The Proverbial Two Birds

Jason Potter and Dan Sindelar were both all in before the flop against Stephen Simm.

Potter: {8-Clubs} {8-Hearts}
Sindelar: {A-Clubs} {Q-Clubs}
Simm: {A-Spades} {K-Diamonds}

The all inners would not like what the dealer did to them, running out a board of {6-Diamonds} {K-Clubs} {4-Spades} {9-Hearts} {7-Spades}. That pushes the pot to Simm, chipping him up to 60,000 and knocking off two players in the process. That's pretty nice work.

Harder Doubles Trough Kara

Christian Harder opened the opened the with a 4,200-chip bet in the small blind and Armen Kara re-popped it to 12,600 in the big blind. Harder bet pot, and Kara went all in. Harder eventually called.

Showdown
Kara: {a-Diamonds}{10-Spades}
Harder: {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

Board: {9-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}

That's a double up for Harder who now has 85,000 chips, Kara slipped to 67,000.

Rapp Capped

When we walked up to the table, Stefan Rapp was all in preflop against Mark Babekov, and it was a coin flip:

Rapp: {A-Spades} {Q-Clubs}
Babekov: {3-Hearts} {3-Spades}

The flop was a pretty good miss for Rapp as the {6-Diamonds} {K-Spades} {10-Clubs} gave him four more outs to work with. The news would turn sour in a hurry though; the turn and river came {3-Diamonds} and {3-Clubs} respectively, and it's hard to beat quads with ace high. Rapp's day is done.

Two More Knockouts

Steven Hustoft was all in before the flop with {10-Clubs} {10-Hearts}, and he ran himself into Melissa Hayden's {K-Hearts} {K-Diamonds}.

There was a bit of a sweat on board, but ultimately nothing funny as it ran out {7-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} {7-Spades} {9-Hearts} {4-Spades}, sending Hustoft home in 57th place unofficially. Hayden is up to 76,000.

Also making his exit just moments ago was Jared Jaffee, though we missed the hand that sealed his demise.
